These are by far the best ferro rods on the market. The length makes them easy to hold while still having plenty of surface area to throw sparks. Speaking of the sparks, these things literally throw them without effort. I wouldn't recommend any other ferro rods than these to anyone.

This tinder wick is an absolutely awesome product!!! I would definitely recommend it to go along with a fero rod because it gives you the ability to not have to brake down the tinder so finely as you with just the rod. It's like having a lighter that doesn't need fuel.

I have been using Uberlieben fire steel rods for awhile now and I would highly recommend them!!!! No matter the weather they will always throw sparks and basically last forever! Even if you drop the rod in a puddle and totally submerge it in water you can pull it out of the water without drying it off and it will still send hot sparks into your tinder. I am lucky enough to own one of the three hundred tindar wick bellows kits. I I always have fun starting any type of fire with the wick that is very reliable. I am very impressed with the quality of Uberleben products. As a survivalist, I would take these items with me into the bush anytime with no worries. Ferro sticks are a known quantity but having an easily ignited match that burns strongly and is easy to use and maneuver is fantastic. Once the match is lit, you can take your time lighting your fire. No rushing before the match goes out It also extinguishes quickly and is cool enough to store in a couple minutes. An old old technology made relevant again!!
