This is the second SmartWings blind we've purchased. We wanted a replacement for our vertical blinds that were in front of a patio window and thought the horizontal roller blind would do the trick. I think it works better than the vertical blind because it lets in more light -- especially with a light filtering fabric. Installation was quick and easy. The only obstacle we had to overcome (not SmartWings fault) was drilling a hole for the power cord from the solar panel to the blind motor. Y...

I really love these shades and drapes. They really block out all the sun light and reduses the heat coming g into the room. I have them open at 8 am, close at 2 pm open at 50% at 6 pm then close at 8 pm. The sun really beats down on this window at 2 pm in the afternoon noon. By adding the shades and drapes the temperature has dropped tremendously in this room. These were so easy to install and connect to to my smartthings hub. I originally ordered these for two windows and liked them so much I ended up placing two more orders to do the rest of my house. The motors are very quiet and have a high quality sound when they're operating. the inside mount ones were very easy to install but I had difficulty snapping them into place for the ceiling mounted once because there is no give in the ceiling purpose to allow rotating the blinds casing. This is the 3rd order (9 total shades) made with SmartWings. Essentially 2 different shades, Linen Blackout roller blinds and Woven Wood Shades 50% Blackout See-through Orithyia, just different sizes. I love the look and quality of the woven wood shades. I would prefer the inside mount blackouts be wider. Ordering a 30" wide inside mount yielded 28 3/8th blind. I realize the restrictions due to the header and motor, its does appear the blinds could be 1/2' wider and accomplish the same goa...
