Install was simple. The biggest issue I had was connectivity of the zigbee motor to my SmartThings hub. The blind is on a basement bedroom window and the hub is upstairs. What finally worked for me was to tape the antenna wires to the plastic end cap of the blind valance. I took the 2 antenna wires out different directions and taped then with clear scotch tape to the plastic holding them away from the metal front of the valance. It improved things tremendously. Have been very happy with the Smartwings roller shade that we got for our large kitchen window. This was part of a complete kitchen overhaul and this window is so large that early morning light is very bright. The 50% sun block shade was not only the perfect solution, we picked a color that complimented the kitchen very well. It will spend 90% of the time in the up position, but is very nice to have down at various positions when needed, or when looks nice (1/2 way down at night for example)....

This blind so far has been flawless. I was able to add it to my Zwave network without any issue and control it right away. I didn’t even bother charging it since I got the solar panel and after a few days my blind was full. I think you’d have to control the blind many times a day to use more battery than what an afternoon can do to charge it back up. Absolutely love our shades. We bought five in total, two room darkening (super dark) for our bedroom and three light filtering for our kitchen and laundry room. Shipping was quick and everything was packed well and properly labeled. Only issue we had, although we took the three measurements as required, it seems our window frames bowed in at other areas and the ones in the bedroom do not fit. The smartwing shade is the upper shade. Its purpose is to block the strong sun in the morning. Today is even cloudy but the shade is working well. Color is slightly different than my existing shade so my suggestion is they add a few more "off white" tones. We ordered a single, hard wired, 12 volt zebra blind as a test. Install and fit were fine. The fabric had a void in one if the horizontal bars. I inquired if this was a seam and if this was normal. They felt is was over stretched during manufacturing and offered to replace the fabric. They asked if they could include the replacement fabric with the main home order, which I was fine with. I installed these Smartwings shades a couple of weeks ago. They were packaged very well so no damage. The quality of the shades seem very good. Instalation was easy and the fit was perfect. Setting-up the shades to communicate with the controller was a bit cumbersome for me as the manual that is provided seems a little unorganized. These blinds are attractive, ship quickly and are easy to install for short valances, as this blind. I ordered the HomeKit ones. They are easy to set up with HomeKit. They are far less expensive than Lutron Serena or RA3. Be careful that you specify the correct size though. The blind width is the width of the valence minus about 0.25" rather than the width of the blind . This is true for inside OR outside mount. Installing it was simple, most difficult part was drilling holes in my wall as I didn’t realise the exact place I planned on putting it has rebar behind it. Beautiful shades and great smart Matter Motor for my Apple Home. If you are NOT a handy person with home projects, I recommend a professional install, especially for any shade that is wider than a typical 32" window. Shades need to be installed as level as possible or you will have issues. Sadly, window frame constructions are not as flat/level as you need for these shades to be inside window frame installed.
