The dress fit true to size for me. I ordered the size 4 and I’m 125lbs and 5’5”. The length was a bit of an issue for me. I wore my highest heels and it was still pretty long. The split in the front helps in this case as it looked a bit like an over skirt with a train because I was shorter. But it was a bit cumbersome to move in as a result. This dress was the most stunning dress I’ve ever worn. I loved it when I tried it on at The Fitzroy but loved it even more when it arrived at my house. It was like a brand new dress! I was pleasantly surprised at how everything just seemed freshly fixed and dress was pressed. Also, I didn’t notice in store how well made the corset inside the dress was. This dress was extremely flattering in all the right places. The slight bit of rouging in the center helped me feel comfortable throughout my midsection and the soft velvet material with lining helped the dress to sit just right. I had a formal event in Toronto and needed a last minute dress. I popped into Fitzroy and in less than an hour I had tried on the dresses I saw online and was on my way with this great dress in hand. The staff were all wonderful and made my first experience at Fitzroy a positive one. For reference, I'm 5'9", 180lbs and typically wear size 12 in pants and the size 16 fit like a glove. This is my second time renting with Fitzroy and I cannot recommend them enough! The whole process from start to finish is a breeze. I opted for the shipping with FedEx and received my rental earlier than expected which was an added bonus. The return process was super easy too. My only thing is I’m a tall girlie (5’11 without heels) and the dress was short on me. I don’t live in the Toronto area and had to do an online fitting, where I was sized for the bust area, but we didn’t touch on the length of dress. This dress had so many compliments all evening. It elevated the event for me and made me feel elegant in a classic Audrey Hepburn way. The material was comfortable and the waffling had a little sheen to it which made it quite beautiful when the light would catch it.
