I home and field tested the fire starters. Confirmed the 5 min burn time. In the field, if fire is built correctly, they will definitely start a fire. But, in my opinion, the instructions on how to prep the starter does not work as well as I anticipated. I found that if you work the whole starter first, softening it or even opening it up completely, it works much better. However, they are very waxy and compressed so it can pose some level of difficulty and patience. Which I have so it was ...

Nice beefy ferro rod. Lanyard for striker seems to be too short “as is” to be truly functional for me. However, that is an easy fix given they provide plenty of cordage in their original design.

I love your brand. My only comment is that you need to communicate more with your customers - as in, Yes we received your order; here is your receipt; and a shipping tracking communication. Nice kit and storage bag. I haven’t used any of these products as they are for emergency purposes. I’ll test them in the spring during first camp. One thing I found disappointing was that this Ultimate kit didn’t include matches.

The pack is too small for the braids to all fit on one side, making room for the ferro rod and the plasma lighter on the other side. That's the only down side I've seen so far.
