Just as described, cut off the stick how much you think need, which isn't much to get you going, clear off the protective coating on the rod, and do your thing it only took me three strikes and poof it was lite, amazing stuff highly recommend. Thanks, Black Beard, for an awesome product. Eric

I used theses pods at deer camp and they worked great. It dropped 4 inches of snow after raining for two days so everything was wet and they were awesome. The guys and I nicknamed them fire pills. Thanks.

Just tried my order for the first time. I followed directions on the bag and when I flicked the lighter near the first piece it immediately burst into flame, I think before the lighter itself actually lit. Burned hot for several minutes, long enough to get a good fire going quickly. Great product, will order more in the future.

It’s not too often when something you buy based on a short video is legit, but Blackbeard fire starters are legit. Super resilient, easy to use all that’s. Middle of nowhere on the Appalachian Trail, late September. Temps were in the low 40s at night. Woke up to a frigid morning but got this awesome fire going thanks to BlackBeard Fire Starter! We did this every night and every morning on the trail and it really made the cold bearable to have a fire!

Used them at our cabin. Wow! Easiest way to start a fire at the fire pit. Loved the fact that once lit, it stays lighted long enough to stack kindling up to big logs. Does last about 8-9 minutes as mentioned. Excellent product!!

When I first saw this, I knew I had to have it! I can think of a million ways that this would come in handy. You don’t need very much to start any kind of fire. I was looking for fire starters for my woodstove as well as fire pits outside and saw you add. I have purchased another brand and wanted to see if there was any real difference. The Black Beard fire starters work real well. Much better than newspaper. One starter seems to work well in my stove and was what I was hoping for. It starts with a match, lighter or flint striker. Very pleased.

I am so pleases with Black Beard products! I haven't had the chance to use them outdoors yet but during the Artic blast I used them to start my fireplace. I used the plugs and starter cord, lit with both the rod and the electric lighter. That equates to 4 times I didn't have to use my gas to start the fire. The long burning fire starters burned so long I only needed to use 1 each time. Can't wait to go camping!

Black Beard fire plugs are awesome. They have extended burn time and make a large flame for the size they are. Most importantly you can cut them in half and start fire in different areas depending on fire size. Best oart they work in wet conditions or in direct rain.

I used this over the 4th of July holiday and it was great! It was a little windy out and I used some Firestarter and it lit immediately. I was able to use this to get the coals started and had to use very little to achieve a large fire!
