We love that this scooter splits in half, making it easier to lift and store in the truck of the car. We looked at other scooter and they were too heavy for my father (or me) to lift. Scooter works great! The seat itself is very hard and needs a good cushion if one is using the scooter long term, say as a replacement for the wheelchair. Otherwise the ability to split the scooter in two makes it much easier to load/unload into a large variety of car trunks. It also makes storage easier as well. Overall great concept. Not as maneuverable as a wheelchair, but splitting the sc ooter in 2 parts makes it much easier for this person to handle. That is, my wheelchair is 65 pounds and too heavy for me to lift back into my van. The scooter is 35 pounds for each part and I have no trouble lifting into my van. That is very much a positive. The scooter breaks down easily. The front portion can be wheeled freely by unlocking the front gear. The engineers really thought if everything as we use that freewheel feature quite often. The ability to break the scooter into 2 pieces also helps reduce the weight when loading/unloading. Lastly, it helps with storage if space is tight. This is my second Atto and first Atto Sport. It is great. Ive had to get used to the moved buttons, often turning on headlights instead of hitting reverse. Seat is very comformable. The addition of the XL Battery will change the way I can use this at work, not needing to charge nearly as often, although the regular flight compliant battery has great range too. The scooter worked perfectly for my mom during our trip to Canada. She would not have been able to keep up with all of her grandkids and great grandkids, if we had not brought this scooter with us. It made the trip so much more convenient and helped my mom to be more independent. It had just enough foot space for her to plant her feet and carry her oxygen. I have used this scooter for several years, and it is the only one I have found that I can split in half to reduce the weight and load and unload in the rear of my SUV by myself. I am 76 years old and have Kennedy's disease, but being able to store the scooter in my car by myself gives me wonderful freedom!
