This is a recent project of mine using my Silverback and 80w laser. It consists of four layers of 3/16" Maple plywood two of which were stained darker brown than the natural Maple of the other two. And then glued together. It makes a nice trivet. You can see the different levels and detail in the close up image.

I made my first attempt at multi-coloured resin pouring on a cutting board that I made today. It consists of cutting the black shape of the eagle to a depth of about 1/8" deep, pouring the black and allowing it to cure for about a day, then cutting the white portion (same depth), pouring the white and curing finally cutting the yellow/gold, pour and cure. After this, I cut the final shape of the cutting board. The board is sanded, soaked in a food-safe mineral oil and finally finished with bee's...

2nd slate attempt. 80w yora on a silverback. Just an image I saved from internets. 3000/20% stucki . Slate from michaels was prepared using 2x clear , one coat. Im not impressed with slate yet as it doesnt have the pop that tile does. Next time I will laser raw slate then clearcoat.

My first ever attempt at using a bowl and tray bit or vbit was today, over the moon with the results. I was very conservative on feeds and speeds so I know I can cut time down a bit but I'm so impressed by my silverback and what can be achieved with it but still wish the cross river was available in the uk (nudge nudge 😝)

Great machine! Very easy to set up and get carving. I went for the 1X machine, Jeremy has answered any questions about the silverback amazing start to my sign hobby. Can't believe it's been almost a year already, and no issues at all! Love my machine, looking forward to a bigger and better spindle.

The last supper was epic; I'm amazed by the incredible detail. I used a 1/2 down cut end mill, then a 1/32 ball nose taper. It took about 6 hours of carve time; I went slow. This was a practice run to see what detail the Silverback 6060 can do. Mind blown!

Getting the most out of the Silverback 1Mx1M. Cutting with compression bit, not vacuuming and no tabs. 12mm MDF components for a project build. Another half metre of 12mm then about 4 1Mx1M of 18mm parts.

Many different techniques here. CNC used was Yorahome Silverback, laser engraved the artwork, the epoxy filled the accents. I don't think epoxy counts as inlay, but thought I would share. This 2'x2' piece led to a 4'x4' sign sold for $1600 (last 2 pics). Both pieces paid for my Silverback and upgrades.

I recently purchased the new SilverBack Air Assist. Boy, what a difference that has made to my clean burns and the ability to cut through. This is a trivet for placing hot items on the table/countertop. Made of four layers and about 5/8" thick. 7"x7" in diameter.

My son is an AVID (BEYOND AVID) Pittsburgh sports fan. I made him pens from seat material from Forbes Field, Three Rivers Stadium, and Heinz Field and the display cases to hold them.

Wanted to post these hardwood catchalls, created on my Silverback 6060. I am a Woodworker first, so stage 1 was cutting the hardwood strips to size, glue ups, then machining and finishing. Perserverance wins out. I am quite happy (finally) with this canvas. I ended up doing just 1 layer of black, I just don't like the way the white spray comes out. 6550 Pro with 96w laser - Speed 2700 mm/min, Power 22%.

My attempt to support my country, Canada.🇨🇦 Canada adopted me nearly 60 years ago. A Maple Leaf carved in my workshop. It has a key slot on the back for hanging and measures 10" high by 9" wide x 1" thick. Made from Mahogany and coated with Semi-gloss Varathane.

I've had this Devine Mercy Cross file for about 4 years. Have made and sold many of them. About a month ago I was at a show and had all my crosses on the tables including the Christmas Nativity and He is Risen Light Up crosses that i have posted here before. Had a guy ask if u could make the Devine Cross light up like the others.. I answered, of course I can... This Cross turned out beautifully if I do say so my self...🤪 This Cross is 12.25"×10.5" 7 layers

Carved these crescent moon catchalls & nesting round catchall on the Silverback 6060. I used a 1/4" downcut bit on the moon tray, 1/2" bowl bit on the round trays. Crescent moon File was purchased from etsy. Used the 6550 pro to laser the moon sequences graphic in the pocket of the round catchall. I adjusted the step over to 20% and had very little sanding. These machines have such huge capability. Best investment I ever made!

Always impressed with the Yora 80w diode laser. My contractor with their C02's have gone bust so I pulled out the Pro I have sitting in the shed and put it into action. Yes, it will take longer but I know it's reliable and the output is just somehow better quality.

Moved onto the next hot item out of the shop.. Had a file for key holders. Made a few, and didn't sell any in a month.. 🤔 Shrunk them down, created a bracket and made night lights out of them.. My Yorahome 6550 80w upgrade has been busy.. Since launch of the night lights, 168 lights ordered, and 150 requests for the bracket file..😁... Love my 6550.. Just a sample. There were originally 45 styles.. But I created a few from scratch for custom orders..

You all make some amazing things but I think I am finally starting to get the hang of it myself. Almost 30 hours of carve. The flower petals are less than a 1/32 of an inch thick.

After a steep learning curve, I finally finished the first carve on my Silverback. This is a clock for one of my wife’s friends that is retiring. Just put the final coat of polyurethane on it and will then do the final assembly of the clock components. Overall, I’m impressed with the Silverback and its functionality. I started with a simple project of reward tokens using 3mm craft plywood. I was able to cut and engrave these very quickly with one pass and on 25% power on the cut step. This power setting has been consistently working for my 3mm cuts. I haven’t had a chance to do ¼ or ½ inch wood, but I am sure it will cut just fine. I will just need to dial in the settings. A photo of my niece’s home. Yorahome 3018 Pro with bed extension and 15w laser. Maximized contrast and converted to grayscale in Gimp 2.0. Exported pic as a .png file and brought into LaserGRBL. Fine tuned contrast and white clip, then ran multiple horizontal and vertical passes on 14” X11” of 3/4” thick aspen. Like cooking a rack of ribs, go low and slow. Patience is key.
