I wish I thought to take a video of using the first starter at my last Civil War reenactment! I started my Friday night fire for cooking my dinner with it. WHOA! Sweet! It was like fat wood only better. I'll take video at our next one later this month and send it to y'all. ..That is, if I can figure out how to.

Fire plugs are awesome. First one I handled a little roughly and tore it apart (unnecessary), but a single spark from the striker was all it took to catch fire. The only shortcoming (and not a complaint because of the limits of the size of the tin which I knew when I purchased) is that the ferro rod is shorter than what I am used to, so it was awkward for me. Others may not be affected by that. My first purchase from BB but not my last. Well done.

I’ve only had one chance to fire 🔥 it up and Thad plenty of good airflow, which I was worried it may not. But it had plenty didn’t spend the evening coaxing the fire to keep burning 🔥 looking forward to getting it out in the mountains, since all the wildfires we’ve had things have changed a lot thank you

They were harder to break apart than I'd anticipated, but they performed beautifully. I loved the ease in lighting the unit and how long it burned to start the fire.

Always wanted something like this when I go backpacking. Never in my life have I used a ferro rod. I did just as the directions said and in 4 or 5 strikes I had fire. Oh I also timed how long they burn and it’s true 5+ minutes. Thanks dudes and chicks you knocked it out of the park.

I do not have the opportunity to camp outdoors. Last winter I made the commitment that I would only use a ferro rod and natural tinder to start my fireplace and outdoor wood stove. Your fire starter has made that increasingly easier. It's a great size and the striker is perfect. The additional orange paracord and striker are a nice extra touch to an already quality set.

I’ve purchased these fire plugs a couple of times. They work GREAT for lighting my fireplace and fire pit. Set up a bit of kindling, place a fire plug in the middle and spark it off with a farro rod. In no time I’ve got a nice, large fire with little to no effort at all. Very pleased!

Soon after I received my Bigfoot bushcraft fire plugs I used them in my new fire pit to start up the fire and each time it only took 1 plug to start the fire! I’m really impressed with these fire plugs because I know that I’ll be able to get a good fire going in just a couple of minutes. Thanks! I’ll be using these fire plugs every time it’s time to get a fire going!

It took me a minute to master it, not really much longer than that, and I had flame immediately. Works like a charm. This set is now in my pack with my backcountry essentials.

Oh my gosh, I love these! I have a wood-burning stove and burn fires every day. No more scrounging in the house for scraps of paper, no more going through a box of matches, trying to get the fire started. I put one of these in and it startsI and I have a blazing fire warming the house in no time. My only regret of purchasing these is that I didn’t buy the tin to store them in. We go to the mountains a lot for wheeling winter and summer and I have now put them in my truck so we can have as emerge...

I used one to light my woodstove. I used a ferro rod, and It took a couple strikes probably would’ve did it in one, but it was a new rod..I am impressed.

Love these little buggers! They light very easily with a spark and the one I lit burned for 5-6 minutes with about a 3" flame - so great for catching the kindling to get the fire going.

Started a fire quickly and easily in windy conditions. The ferro rod threw more than enough sparks to light the fire plugs. The plugs burned hot enough and long enough to get the kindling burning.

They do exactly what they’re supposed to. Break one open put some tinder over it and one or strikes off the stick, it’s like magic! Instant fire. Works great, Thanks Bigfoot!

Bought these for our emergency pack, but will surely use them for a bonfire between now and Spring. Very impressed, packaging is on point and purchased the tin to keep them in along with the striker. Will definitely be a repeat purchaser

First time purchasing something like this. Never had any luck with a rod and striker, tried one at home a few strikes and I had fire! I’ll plan on using to start my firepit and keep a few in my survival kit when at hunting camp.

bought these as Christmas gifts for my backpacking sons, but I tried one and it lit on the first strike and burned long enough to start a fire without paper or other fire starter. I think the boys will love them.

Really happy how well these work. For the price they work well for outdoor fires at home. One spark and they started right up. They actually smell nice which was a nice surprise.

Great product ! Here in New England there are a lot of white birch trees , and the outer bark makes an awesome fire starter. having said that , always from downed dead trees of course. These little gems are perfect for those times when gathering a natural tinder is difficult. They work awesome ! Even after getting wet. Any outdoorsman should always carry a handful of these, they could save your life !

I have a burn barrel in the back yard. I went out to burn some limbs that had fallen during our last rainy periods and after following instructions, I was very impressed as to how long they burned and how hot the fire was before the kindling got going. It only took one and I didn't have to use more than one light to get it started. Very pleased!

SMall and compact. Perfect when hiking, does not take up much room and can be packed in anything. Light quick and burns long enough to get the starter wood going.

I live in Louisiana where the woods are always damp. I have never been able to start a fire as fast as with your firestarting material. The long burn time gets the wood dried out and gets things up and going in no time. No sure whats in there, but it must be magic. Thank you and God bless.

Besides a lighter or matches, these are the easiest way that I have found to start a fire. I bought several sets to give my kids so they can have a fire starter in their cars emergency kit. They are great!!

Yes I've used it these plugs worked wonders would constantly use them at almost every night break them in half peel them all over in my fiance loved them is how fast it burned. But that's why I was hoping when I ordered more didn't know I was ordering empty canteens

I was so pleasantly surprised when I discovered that the tinder arrived in a heavy duty sealed plastic bag that actually negated to requirement to use the tin I also purchased. That’s okay, I have other stuff to put into that! I can’t post a pic of it in use, it went directly into my Get-Home bag in the car. I was a bit disappointed that the “free gift” came without instructions but it appears to be a few feet of 550 cord wrapped around a lightweight carabiner that’s too flimsy to be actually u...

Back in the '60's, I used vaseline coated cotton balls along with a Bic lighter to start my winter fires. I've used every fire starter since then. This is my new "go to" fire starter. Easy, convenient and burns much longer then anything I have used before.

As a retired Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer,... I know having what you need in an emergency is a must,... I just received my order of fire plug, spark rod and travel tin and tested one of the plugs to see just how good they are,... after striking the spark rod twice, I had a fire that lasted over 4 1/2 minutes,... as a result, I just replaced my fire making stuff in my EDC pack,... If I ever NEED a fire, I now know that this will provide,... Thank You Bigfoot Bushcraft for your GREAT product.

All I can speak to at present is the super fast delivery. I bought these to spread between sons and sons-in-laws’ Christmas stockings. I really believe they are going to be fantastic.

I scraped some of the coating off. Peeled and fluffed a half of a fire plug. Then scraped the rod twice for spark and had fire! It was just that easy!! Never fear of getting fire with a fire plug and ferro rod combination Bigfoot Bushcraft.
