I bought this DAC to pair with a Singxer SA-1. I upgraded from a JDS labs stack. The DAC is more or less an upgrade over the JDS by having more features, more connectivity, and better build quality. Absolutely stellar headphones. I owned these at the same time as the HE-1000 Stealth and I much preferred the tuning of the Organics. They sound more spacious and punchy to me. The HE-1000 sound great too, but with more subdued treble and bass, and don’t have the dynamics (punch) of the Organics. The REX5 has amazing looks and build quality. The IEMs themselves are beautiful but the green aluminum case is outstanding. The sound straight out of the box is nice, but running the Audiodo personalization really makes this set perfect. Then if you like EQ and layer that on top of the personalization you can make this TWS anything you want. After comparing the Bathys to my PX8, I'm 100% sold on the Bathys owing to their clarity. While PX8 makes some fun tweaks to the audio to make it more punchy, I found that the clarity of the Bathys take listening to a new level. Even at 48 kHz. Rough start and mixed emotions when i first received my set. From pictures i expected the unit to be a clean bright white in color. My set is more of a pearl cream color. After minor tweaks, I forget I have these on (in a good way). While the cable is way better than most stock cables it was a little thick and a little stiff for my preference. It also took a while to find a comfortable tip. Ended up using a smaller tip (stock, actually) than I usually use. I think the wide bore on these IEM's causes the tips to feel a size bigger in my ear, adding uncomfortable pressure unless I step down a size. These are my first set of IEMs and these have by far overexceeded my expectations of what an IEM is capable of doing. I have always loved the look of focal headphones, so when the Elex went on sale I had to get a pair. They did not disappoint. I'm upgrading from a 6xx and Sundara combo.
