My DAC/Amp experience: phones with headphone jacks, fii0 k7, ifi go blu, fii0 btrs15, and now topping G5. All amps sound the same to me. Turn the nob volume goes up. I turn the volume up until I can hear the smallest details in the music I listen to. However, sometimes turning the volume up makes the music painful. I thought this was just a function of loudness and my ears reacting to something that is too loud. Perhaps not. This Topping G5 is not like the others. It introduces a whole new bass ...

I bought these for the external noise cancellation. And it does a marvelous job at it. While it doesn't mute all the high's coming from everyone talking or things outside it does mask low tones quite well. So my neighbors jumping around, the truck exhaust growling outside and my really annoying fridge or even the passing train is almost completely drowned out. As far as the sound quality, I would give this a solid 7/10 on wireless and 8/10 on DAC and i haven't tried the pass through but I ca...

I have a lot of headphones and IEMs. A lot. But, no Focals. I have been circling them for a while but have not pulled the trigger until now as I have been very satisfied with my Sennheisers (x4), Audez, Hifiman (x3), and others I have. After a lot of research, the Elex seemed to be what I had been looking for. Balanced sound. Reasonable cost. Very well-reviewed. Great looks. Time to buy. Push button and ship. When I first heard them I thought I made a mistake. They sounded so clean and clear w...

I have been looking for something a little better than the Nio, and took a chance on the Mirai. This is a fabulous IEM! Tight elevated bass, more sub-bass than mi-bass. It is v-shaped, but the midrange sparkles. To me it is highly resolving as it can separate subtle instrument differences. The big test was A/B testing against my 64Audio U12t. I find them almost indistinguishable with the Mirai showing more sparkle in the treble and more defined bass. If you are very treble sensitive they might b...

The LCD-X are really amazing headphones and they are significantly lighter than the previous generation of the same headphones. There really is not much that I would say is bad about it. Besides after maybe about 3 to 4 hours in and I felt that the weight was a little bit too much. In terms of the sound, the clarity was really well done and the resolution is a bit not as open as I would like it to be compare to my HE-500s. The bass is enough of a impact when listening to music and while gaming. ...

This little device has been a game changer for me, my best DAC so far, and also is portable, and has eq, crossfeed, but the best part is that sounds awesome, so detailed but not fatiguing, clear and musical, only it wont drive your hungry planars but rest of headphones like Focal Clear or Sennheiser hd 620S drives them really well, but for my Hifiman He6se v2 I use it only as a DAC and use an external amplifier. And also the open box deal great, it came as new.

When it comes to pure bass performance, this is my end game. What more can I say? I loved the Titans since I listened to them at CanJam NYC earlier this year and I knew I was destined to get a pair. Thanks to the team at Headphones.com for making my experience not only seamless but extremely fast. Free 2-day shipping was an awesome touch. Thank you!

Delivers on exactly what DMS was advertising, great tone for not unreasonable money in the grand scheme. If I had one complaint it would be that the headphone cups don't lock, so they spin a full 360 degrees.

This is my second open-box purchase from Headphones.com, and a second great experience. Seems very much a new unit. Even the protective plastic on the Focal logo on both earcups was in place. The Bathys are great ... though I do think that even the open box price is a bit high. Then again, I used these on two seven hour flights to and from Hawaii and they were great. The only discomfort is from the headband ... could be a little softer. Audio quality is stellar, though, with both modes. TBH, I...

Absolutely loving these. Extremely light and with less clamp than my HD580 and HD600. These are more relaxed and less fatiguing than most of the other headphones in my collection. They pair extremely well with the Sennheiser HDV820, Schiit Asgard or my tube amps. Initial impressions is it is not amp dependent for awesome sound. I find myself grabbing Project Omega more than my others, especially when I want to sit back and let the music take me.

DMS Omega is the headphone that a lot of us asked for, but no manufacturer would provide. And so DMS took things into his own hands to create the headphone most of us wanted, a Sennheiser HD600/650/6XX with bass extension. The goal was to create a headphone with the aforementioned tuning, and mission accomplished but better. Bass is punchy, snappy, and well extended. The rest of the frequency response is basically HD6x0. Most people aren't going to want to eq this head phone. Stock tuning,...

First off, what great customer service from headphones.com. Thank you for that! I am not a well versed headphone expert, I just know what I like. These Anandas are so comfortable to wear and sound so good. Between songs and in songs where there might be a second or two of silence, I hear absolutely nothing. The sound is so clean and vibrant. I completely lose myself in the music while listening. Very happy I made this purchase.

I purchased the LCD-2 Closed back as an open box item from Headphones.com - and they may as well been brand new! While the LCD-2 Closed does not come in the fancy Pelican case that the LCD-2,3 and 4 come in, they are still well protected in a custom foam cushion in a cardboard box. In comparing the LCD-2 Closed to the Open, the build quality is high as expected from Audeze. The weight of both headphones feel about the same. The "pleather" earpads on the LCD-2 Closed are a little deeper and stif...

Great fit and feel. Looks very premium. Two minor problems: the case makes it easier to inadvertently press pause/forward/back buttons and the case makes it more a little more difficult to access the drop down menu. I would really like to see a button lock feature on the SR25.

well my search is over comfort/isolation is best in class. this typically dictates which cans I actually use. i often wake up wearing these headphones. not the usual order of events... sound is intimate, detailed. if you want the fluff, a quick google should suffice. use is mainly rock, metal, pop, hip-hop, and RnB folding/portability is legit, haven’t had to use it though but it is very well done. folds better than ultrasone pro 900s, sexier case as well. only gripe is cable sleeve seems l...

Great amp/DAC combo in a tiny package! Bought it to use as a cheap MQA renderer and I am not disappointed at all. Beautiful, rich, warm, and detailed sound. Sounds lovely in comparison to my (Mass)Drop Grace DAC/02 amp combo. About the same in overall level of quality, but a nice alternative. This, however, has the added benefit of being portable. I would recommend one if you are looking to get the most out of your MQA files/streams.

This is the first headphone purchase I have made in a while and the first non-dynamic driver headphone I own. Coming from a Focal Elear as my daily driver this is a huge step up in terms of overall detail and clarity. I would describe the upgrade as similar to when I first tried a high-end pair of IEMs and realized what I was missing. These headphones give me the same experience; allowing me to discover new characteristics to songs I have been enjoying for years. I am using an RME ADI-2 DAC f...

It’s incredible what a great deal these headphones are! With the stock pads, they have a slightly warm tonality, without lacking in the highs. Swapping the Utopia pads onto them brings up the mids and adds some nice presence to the vocals, which I really enjoy, though if you’re sensitive you may find it a bit shouty. The detail is excellent, and at this insane price, it’s far and away the best detail in the range. And of course the dynamics on these is really what you come to focal for. The...

Love these headphones, they are absolutely stunning. Detail retrieval is exceptional. Bought them for use in bedroom when my wife is watching TV or asleep and they are perfect for that. They do leak a very, very 'little' bit of sound (more than aeon flow 2 closed), but it has to be dead quiet to hear it. The cord is a little stiff but manageable.

In a few words these Focal Elear headphones are for me one of the most awe inspiring pieces of equipment I have ever purchased! A multi tool for all. In a few words, that’s exactly what the Fi iCan Pro is for me… You have several inputs and outputs which come very handy if you have several DAC’s and/or headphones. The AMP size is very convenient and quite powerful @ 14W, I was very impressed. The iCan Pro can drive the inefficient HiFiMan HE-560 with ease, at 9db gain. I have not had any need to bump it to 20db, as 9db drove my headphones just fine… I Never had to go past 11 o’clock. I did try the 20db and 9 o’clock ...

Aural Sex. As always, effortless order fulfillment. Absolutely outstanding product. The SP3000 comes with a serious price tag but end-game performance. I cannot stress the build and sound quality of this device enough. Came basically as new. All the protective plastic wrap and everything were on there. They sound fantastic. Super dynamic and punchy. They have a neutral sound, but have a nice bass extention that you can feel. The easy way to describe their sound is that they are basically HD6XXs on steroids. High marks for comfort too. The Elex is what many would consider the next logical step up from the HD600, being a neutral tuned dynamic driver headphone with a relatively open baffle/minimal damping. I would say that the Elex succeeds in some places, depending on what you want from your headphones. Here I will compare vs the HD600 ++ Sub-bass, Present on the Elex while basically being absent on the HD600 (still rolls off past ~40Hz on Elex, but at least you can feel the rumble in tracks) + Mid-bass, Punchier on the Elex - ...

The Elex is the best set of headphones I have owned, running through a Schiit Midgard, with a WiiM mini and Denifrips Ares 2 as the source. For comparisons I own a Beyerdynamic DT1990 along with a set of 880’s and 770’s. The 1990’s are the closest but the the Focals just have a smoothness the 1990s lack.
