I love receiving these. It takes me back to the days when I worked in Melbourne city and lived in suburban melbourne, in the 70' and 80's. Nostalic would describe it. The Arcade, Georges, Darrel Lea, theatre & tram travel. Now, in nth Victoria on farm, and loving the "jog" to memories. Thank you.

I love receiving my monthly letter from 'The Tearoom Diaries. It's exciting not knowing what Doris Mitchell has been up to. The juicy snippets of gossip and revelations about her life, friendships and d'alliances are worth waiting for. Letter writing is nearly a thing of the past which is a shame as it is an art form and way of communicating that is rich in anticipation, mystery and an honesty that is missing in texting and phone calls today. I just received my third letter from the Doris Mitchell Diaries and I am stoked! It is a fabulous gift I received from my beautiful big sister upon my retirement. I am a big tea drinker and it’s a ritual for my husband and I to always have a pot of tea every morning together. She loves it!! she lives in a Aged care facility and to get mail once a month is something she looks forward to, but not only her other residents and staff also look forward to sharing the letters with her. Was so very excited when I found out my daughter from Sydney gifted me The Tearoom Diaries for Mothers Day this year. I was telling her about it as I purchased the subscription for my Mother In Law for Mothers Day this year as well. Both my mother in law & myself sat down with our Cuppa tea and enjoyed The Diaries. I have given this as a gift to my mother for Mother's Day and her birthday in September. It's a gift that just keeps giving and she really enjoys the letters and extras that come with it . She is 92, and very active still, not so much physically but always plays cards , in a book club and uses her phone efficiently. She is i a retirement village in Bundaberg and looks forward to the letters every month and knows the arcade where Tea Rooms originated. I am so pleased she is enjoying the journey....
