I went for the brown Worth strings according to reviews and C.C. confirmed it with his recommendation that they suit a laminated top (I have fitted them to a tenor). True they are not as 'bright', but I wanted the mellower sound. It is not my place or intention to bag any other strings ("Horses for courses"), but the experience we had with the Aquila Reds was not a pleasant one, they were never right, they didn't seem to want to settle in and the intonation was out though I improved it a little...

I accidentally snipped a string on my Cynthia Lin ukulele (best not to ask how I did that!) I wanted a the original type of strings which came on the ukulele to keep the beautiful sound from when I bought it so I got replacement Worth Strings from Chris. Now my uke sounds like it should! Wasn't sure if these softer strings would still provide sufficient volume but have been pleasantly surprised by the volume, improved tone and ease of playing. Definitely recommend them.!

The Worth Brown Strings are trully wonderful! They hold tune and settle-in very quickly after installation and offer a slightly more mellow tone than the Worth Clear variant.

Extremely happy with the tone after fitting these. Had Aquila before and they were fine so it’s a personal preference for me. Bought a Low G set also for my other uke but not fitted yet. Took a while to settle in and still need to retune each use at present. Worth it though.

Hi Chris Only used the brown strings. They feel great but do stretch quite a bit. The sound is a lot mellower than the Nygut that I have used for quite a while. They are definitely easier to bend also. I am very happy that I have changed. Barry.
