I wanted the Lone Peak in a certain color but couldn't find it anywhere. I had been looking on Amazon because I wouldn't pay shipping if I ordered there. I would rather not buy on Amazon if I can help it. I made a wider search online and found one pair in the color and my size on the other side of the country at Athletic Threads. I called the number on their website to confirm they are a legit business and that they had my size and color in stock. I was pleased that the call was answered promptly and there, in the shop. The store attendant checked the stock, and when I asked for the shipping cost, I was happy to learn that they wouldn't be charging me for shipping. I hung up, placed my order online, and within an hour, got a confirmation and tracking number. The shoes arrived earlier than expected and in perfect order. Another example that encourages me to purchase from small shops when possible.
