It's best to fix the system yourself. After 12 years of constant use, both original springs broke. I obtained the replacement parts and did the work myself, following the clear instructions that come with the product. There are also videos on YouTube, and I spent less than $150. It's very easy to install. The garage door technicians I consulted said they needed to replace the spring system, and they quoted me over $650.
I'll have my door working for at least another 12 years. Thank you so much.
