Long review:
I actually tried to cancel my order, but thankfully it didn't work.
I looked for weeks for a dress that was in my (small) budget, that didn't also show off a bunch of skin. It was starting to feel really hopeless, until I came across Queen Gown on Etsy and found that they did custom gowns. I read all the reviews that I could on their storefront, website, and Google until I was confident that it was a legit shop that did good work. But, most reviews warned about their lack of communication.
I wasn't too worried about that, so reached out and had a quick and easy time emailing one of their designers back and forth until we settled on a dress design that I loved. The price point was a bit higher than I expected, but I decided to go ahead and buy the dress anyways.
After that, it was dead air. It wasn't a big deal at first, I was expecting that anyways from the reviews and focused on other wedding details. But when I reached out 2 months later to check on expected shipping date, I got an automatic email informing me that they were affected by the hurricane that hit SC a month prior, and that they were doing their best to keep up with orders. Maybe I'm being completely unreasonable, but I got so upset that they never reached out to their clients to let them know at any point. I attempted to email and call multiple times over the course of the next week, and actually still have never got a single response back.
I was on a payment plan, and at this point I was panicking, so I called one last time and left a message that I was canceling my order, and since their was no option to actually do so, that I was canceling my card to stop all future payments. I didn't care about a refund, but I needed whatever money was left to be charged to try and find a last minute dress. So that's exactly what I did.
However, the next day I got an email that my dress had been shipped 🤦🏼♀️
The dress is absolutely gorgeous. The quality and attention to detail was amazing...it was exactly what I envisioned for my wedding dress. I, of course, then had to go and update my payment information.
I ended up having to get my dressed hemmed a bit, and the seamstress who helped me just went on and on about the quality of the handiwork and how the dress overall fit me like a glove. It is amazing quality for what you pay, and truly, I am beyond happy with the purchase.
The communication with clients just needs a lot of work! Its the only reason I gave them 4 stars. So, if you're brave or just have a more mellow personality, the purchase is worth it!
