The devices go off on their own sometimes and the nylon leash is not a high enough quality to keep the device in the proper position on the neck. Everytime my dogs shake or sratch it triggers it and moves it around there necks. Yes it is tightened. I put a knot in the nylon leash to try and "lock" it in place.

Would like to return it for a full refund, please. Don't think I'll be able to use it. The little house made by PetSafe seems to work better as long as I keep fresh batteries in it. Your device seems to need an electrical plug in cord and the distance in my big yard does bit permit that, nor is it feasible. Please do not post this publicly it's for your eyes only.
