When I tried to read an amiibo with Kirby Air Rider, I was prompted to update the controller, but I was unable to do so.
So even though this controller has NFC functionality, it cannot read amiibo.
This is sad, so I hope it can be fixed with a firmware upgrade or something.
I am very happy with the other features and design.
