I was absolutely another case of corrosion. The stock plug that the motor was plugged into was corroding and the power was intermittent which was a real problem when spot locked in current or waves. I found power pux through capt CA with flats class. Very convenient install! I was able to use the same mounting holes as the quick release bracket I already had on there. My first attempt at installing this for a Simrad Recon did not allow the required shaft-to-rubrail clearance after off-setting the trolling motor further forward on the Power Pux base. I am using the existing holes in my deck which were drilled to fit a Chittum-installed Minn-Kota Terrova and secondly to work with a Power-Pole MOVE. Initially, I had ⅛" of clearance whereas I now have the necessary 1 ½". As they say, second time is a charm.

The lock works fine. It fits tightly which makes it difficult to tamper. One must exercise caution when installing or uninstalling the two halves of the lock over the water. It is very easy to lose grip while engaging the lock and drop it. The lock would improve with a cord or leash to attach both lock sides to the motor while locking/unlocking
