Love the look and value of the x-bull 13k winch! Installation wasn’t bad, but the instructions aren’t much help, aside from wiring. The included hook was *ok*, but I opted for a factor 55 hook instead. It’s a tight fit on the JL steel bumper, but it does fit.

Easy installation. Instructions could be better however. Mount bolts need a little more length for the better made bumpers. Cables were perfect length for my 08 Wrangler but would probably need to be longer for pick up applications. Probably need to have a way to specify what it’s going on and have different lengths available.

I ordered the GEN two recovery board set of four recently. I received the GEN three set instead which is OK because it’s only 6 inches longer. What was unexpected was that it came with two bags along with the mount hardware for an external rack. Really surprised with how fast everything was shipped and what all came. Winch would only work going in with the remote and wouldn’t go out. Could hear the contactor clicking, checked the motor and it was ok, so replaced the control module. Took old one off, put this one on and I’m back to working like new.

I love my winch. I put it on my 2016 ram 1500 and was able to winch out a ford f250 with a job box out of the ditch no problems. Only two small things that I think could be improved on, 1 the ability to mount the control box on the back side of the winch and 2 for the engage/disengage lever to be a bit lower profile to fit in a bumper.

So far so good, I put it on a 2023 jeep wrangler rubicon. The weight is spot on which was important to me. I had a Badlands winch on before and the Xbull one has a better gear ratio and a more powerful motor and not to mention 2500 lb more pulling power. I’ll update this if anything bad happens. I’ve had it for a month or 2 now.

I would give it five stars except the rope right out of the box had color faded which makes it look used. It’s pretty evident in the pictures. The cordless function on the remote works great.
