Under the foot of the lions has 4 animals, which are symbolic representation of Lord Buddha's life stages. They should be in an order as follows: Elephant, Bull, Horse and Lion. The elephant represents the birth of Siddhattha Gotama, bull represents his youth and the horse represents the great renunciation. The lion represent the Buddha himself, as the enlightened one. But the image shows elephant followed by horse, which is not following the above described order.
