This Gunny Juice 1 micron emulsion is my first foray into diamond stropping and so far I'm loving it. I'm using it on bass wood, and once you get the initial rough surface smoothed with a few passes of the knife it is working very well in terms of the "feel" when you know you have found your bevel angle. I've done just one knife so far, going from a very toothy 325 grit diamond edge (carefully deburred) straight to the strop leaving me with a very toothy, aggressive edge with just the right amou...

First “diamond emulsion” I’ve ever tried so I only have green compound to compare it to… between those two there is no comparison. Stroppy Stuff is leaps and bounds above using green compound. Using the 1 micron emulsion provided fast, mirror like results and a razors edge!

Enjoyed using sharpener. Works well. Really like the rotation of 180 degrees to sharpen other side. Great price point. Have not used 300/600 diamond stones yet. I'm sure they are going to be fine. Thanks for a great product.

I got the 80/120/400 Hapstone CBN stones and so far they seem to be working good for me. Have used them mostly on s30v blades for now. Larry

I have several of these stones, really love to finish with these. Quality one one of mine was not as good as the other four. One was not at all flat. Aluminum core was mishaped. The other four near perfect. Overall I really like them.

Pretty interesting strop! I've never used nanocloth before. The feel is interesting and it's very thin. It seems to soak up a good amount of compound. So far I've only used it on a few knives but it works well, especially in concert with the Jende .5 micron diamond emulsion. I may get a bench strop of this material.

Arrived partially assembled so the video of installing it was a wee bit outdated, but close enough to know what is going on. The clamps are what I would call tight but 100% functional. Holds most blades solid enough to put a good clean edge on. Due to the extended length, the angle(s) need to be checked, but again, not a serious issue. Good addition to the overall functionality of the WSPPA sharpener and if you are looking for an upgrade, this is the go-to item, initially. It achieves the desire...

The stropping compound goes onto balsa evenly when applied with a brush. Takes a bit to dry. Once dry stropping produces a fine edge with excellent slicing ability. I’m very pleased with the results.

This is Charles Daniel Dawson. Petra ordered the cases for me. I was incredibly pleased with Gritomatic's design, as well as the execution of that design. The cutouts were thoughtfully placed and cut with perfect sizing for each part of the Hapstone RS sharpener. Thanks for a great product to protect my tool.

First time use I sharpened two knives one folder a Benchmade Nakamura M390, and a Randell five inch stainless. Worked great, would buy again. Used Digital Angle Gauge on each stone. Smooth and stayed in place

Works great! But I wish I got the bigger bottle. This size is enough to load 2 full size strops but I have a lot of strops. I have used stroppy-stuff on Leather, basswood and balsa. I think that I get the best results on basswood.

These are great, they are a little thicker than another brand I bought. I used them finally tonight on three knives and I am happy with the finish and edge.

expensive but fantastic. I originally grabbed a set of double-sided Venev Centaur stones with my Hapstone kit a couple of years ago and they were OK, but I didn't like the relative lack of retention without the "ears" on the ends of the stones, and my edge pro blanks I used for stropping were so much slimmer I had to actually move my fine-tuning stop to swap between the angles, which was annoying. so after getting a couple years of solid use out of them I decided to upgrade to these and I'm ve...

Seems to work great so far. It comes in a 2.5" wide by 2" tall (50x65mm) plastic jar, filled a bit over half way (with the 10 micron size) which will likely vary depending on diamond size. It contains 50 grams of product, I am not sure how much of that is diamond. The product itself is a green wax or grease of some kind. It is fairly firm in the jar but once you start moving it around it becomes quite soft, maybe around a vaseline consistency or so which makes application very easy.

This stuff is fantastic! It goes on pretty evenly and the orange die makes it apparent where you're applying the spray. It does a great job of burr removal while leaving a very toothy edge. Price wise it's half the cost of the Gunny Juice or Jende emulsions and works as well as anything I've tried.

TS Prof Kadet Pro is #1. I find that most work is done using the 140 Grit stone to "re-contour" messed up blades. That is why I got an extra 140. It might take a couple of hours to fix a real mess. After that everything goes much quicker, 10-12 minutes to restore the edge and hone to beautiful mirror finish with the 1200 grit in the 4 pc Atoma set.

without this, trying to sharpen my 8" chefs knife was basically useless, their was so much wobble that there was no way the angle was consistent. But, I did give it a go. With this installed it was so much more stable, I got a great edge on it. Best few bucks I have ever spent!!

Works well. If nit--picking, I'd make the base a little heavier or figure out how to fasten it to the table since I sometimes have to hold it down with my other hand.

The Chosera stones for the Edge Pro are quite thick compared to Edge Pro water stones. So that I will have to modify my stone arm carriage on my professional model, so that I won’t run into the ramp on the carriage. ( Not enough adjustment) Otherwise the stones are of high quality. The issue I’m having doesn’t occur on the Apex model.

This is a great stop! It's for Edge Pro but it works fine for freehand stropping as well. I love the color coding and the fact that the grit of the compound that it's intended for it written on the plate permanently, no more trying to remember of guess what you've got your leather doped with. The leather is well cut, smooth and adheres well to the precisely machined blank. I've got another one on the way for the .5 micron StroppyStuff as well. Thanks, Gritomatic!

I prefer Stroppy Stuff over Gunny Juice. Reason being that Stroppy Stuff is just viscous enough to stay on the leather long enough to get evenly distributed. Gunny Juice just soaks into the leather far too quick and keeps a tacky feel. Th 0.1 micron just pushes it to the max for those looking for hair whittling edges. Though in real life, they don't last long.

Stone removes material aggressively as expected. The water and metal dust seemingly "roll off" with use. It eases my mind that rather than breathing the dust in, it just rolls away in a watery suspension.

I have purchased the 1, 3, and 6 micron. I have been using them to sharpen s30v, cpm s110v, and maxamet. It really does an amazing job on high wear resistant steels. I like the fact that it goes on a leather strop smooth and you don't feel any major resistance or high spots when stropping. It does take quite a bit to cover the strop, but for me, it is definitely worth it. Will continue to use it.

This is a wonderful addition to my fixed angle sharpener. Applied diamond paste and went to work. Nice. Just be careful not to go against the edge like I did. At beginning of stroke I slipped and backed up a little. OOPS. This strop is thin and does a nice edge finish. Kangaroo might be a little thinner and have less cushion but I am pleased with this one. My knives are now pretty as well as sharp. Beats a hanging strop for flat!!

The 80 grit makes quick work of bevel setting. If you use the 50 grit, you definitely need the 80 in the progression. These are by far the best stones I own. I have venev, atoma, and quite a few more. This 80 cuts as fast as the aroma 140. I highly recommend them.

If you have a Work Sharp Adjustable, you need one of these. Holds 6 inch stones and strops of various types. Makes a good sharpener great. Slowly acquiring various stones for use on different steels and strops for different grit pastes. WSA only came with 320, 600 diamond stones and a ceramic to polish. Good but not mirror finish. Six inch leather strop works well with 1.0 diamond paste. I'm headed for a 150 stone to re-profile. The 320 works but takes a lot of time on stainless knives I've done...

I really like this stone. It cuts fast and clean with light mineral oil. I purchased this for hammer and sear work with a power custom series 1 jig. It is lapped flat and sized well for that application. It put a nice edge on one of my favorite 154CM blades too.

Recently upgraded my sharpening system to the Hapstone RS Black kit and a set of the Hapstone premium CBN stones. I absolutely love this setup can't say enough good things about it. Even the central module holds large blades securely. Now I can finally sharpen the knives the original gripper wasn't able to handle, like the small blade on my Victorinox. I had previously been using a brace to keep the old gripper from wobbling, so unsticking the knife from the magnet to flip it was not much more effort than flipping the mechanism had been before. Was able to do 20-degree angle on my largest blade no problem.

I really have only used the three finest Nano Hone stones in the group, but they work really well and provide mirror finishes. I'm more inclined to use diamond stones for low grit, so I don't really have an opinion on the lower grit Nano Hone stones.

Sharpener is great! I would have given five stars except the extra rod included in the black version is not round and it sticks severely in the ball pivot joint. After using it you can clearly see lines running length wise where it just makes contact in symmetrical points around the circumference of the rod. I don’t know if it will wear in or prematurely wear out the heim joint.
