It’s a bit fat in the middle! Realised I didn’t soak willow for long enough but won’t make that mistake again. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Would love it if you designed a flower trug to make. So expensive to buy. Would be really handy for gathering flowers and produce!

I had great fun making this little birds nest. It took me just a few hours to make. I am a beginner at willow work and can highly recommend this project. It is so satisfying making something useful and which also "takes you out of yourself" for a few hours. Give it a go, you'll really enjoy making it.

A brilliant kit! My mum was visiting so I got two kits and we watched the tutorials and built them together. The tutorials were very clear and easy to follow, broken down into management sections. In total it took us 3 days to complete and we watched most of the videos twice and paused when needed. Lovely activity to enjoy with family. Eyeing up their other kits now.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course although the shape of my support looks more like a rocket or a gherkin rather than a cone! I have positioned amongst plants for the purpose of the photo but will position properly at the weekend with my sweet peas. The instructions are clear but if you don't quite understand the demonstration illustrates the process beautifully. I may have to try it again to perfect the cone shape! I had a wonderful time with this kit and learned many new weaving techniques. I had access to the video before receiving my willow so I harvested some local willow and gave it a try (left). The second try with the willow from the kit was even more successful (right). It is winter here in Oregon so it was a bit tougher to get the kit willow softened. After three days in the garage I moved it indoors into my bathtub adding hot water twice a day and it worked well. I’ll definitely be ordering more...

I couldn't commit to doing the shopping basket in one or two sittings. That gave me problems when bending the uprights over for the final waling, as these bits had dried out and shattered when pushed over, leaving very visible, sharp edges. My basket was quite dish-shaped, so I decided to keep the leather straps for another future attempt. I was proud of my achievement and decided it would make a good fireside kindling basket so lined it with a jute coffee sack. 👍

I love it. If you're looking for a new hobby or a gift these kits are perfect. To be truthful the bird feeder was a bit ambitious for a beginner, however the tutorial is great, very clear and you can watch it again and again if you need to. Patrick is very quick to reply to queries and offers advice and guidance. You can't really go wrong. I'm now thinking about weaving other things and will definitely be ordering another kit. This project started out smoothly and then got a bit bumpy!! Very pleased with my forst project although like everything I know that I will definitely have all my rods soaked and ready next time. Had to dunk the base in a tub for a day while waiting for more rods to soak. Some snapping happened and all in all a wonderful hard-earned first project !! I loved the Birdfeeder, infact I have made 3! Although being sent the wrong kits initially, we worked out that I could still use the willow. Alot of the tips were a bit too thick to use in the small spaces as they were meant for the plant support but I did persevere and got there in the end. The 3 birdfeeders came out slightly different each time. As a newbie to willow weaving I didn't think I did too bad! The man was very helpful. Very pleased with the finish 😀

So much fun to make! Love the willow with the bark on, it’s longer to soak but definitely easier to use than the buff willow. I love my house so much and more importantly so do my birdies :) Makes me happy every time they go inside. I’ve lined it with a silicone baking tray so I can get it in and out for cleaning and punched holes in it so water does collect:)
