My son just loved it. i described it to him as the paua shell was his grand parents from both sides , then the next top plates were myself on the bottom holding him and on top his dad (whose not in picture), the Koru are him and his brothers , then the next plats are his extended whanau and friends and the brown plats and lines are his ancestors.
I'm not sure if that's what it actually represents when you crafted it, but...
