After a long weekend of motorcycle camping (4 nights) I have some feed back about the Haven Tent Safari. The good: 1. Very impressive design concept. 2. Quality materials. 3. Quick and easy to set-up. 4. Comfort sleeping. Now the bad: I am at the large end of the capacity of this tent. I am 6'-1" and 275-280 lbs. But I ordered two from Canada and I order many US products from many different companies and for some reason to get 2 ridge lights delivered to me, the UPS delivery charge was more than 40% of the pruchase price. What year is it that shipping costs that much internationally. It was not built heavy duty enough to support weight. Despite using the slip knot, it kept slipping down the tree. I ended up having to use the straps from one of my other hammocks.

Seemed like a good, versatile product, but it's really a handyman, master of none. I slept in my backyard with this hammock for 2 nights, and woke up to a foot long tear under the zipper. I submitted a warranty claim (which they make you pay for) and got a new hammock about a week later, and upon inspection, the construction was slightly different. The hammock is a good concept, but too heavy for what most people would want it for. I was very disappointed to see that my xl insulated pad... really has no insulation, but now I see them try to sell you an insulated cover, and now a new pad to correct the center sag. I think I'd try an Amok next time.
