I was told my bottom board was going to have a screened board this time but it was solid again. Very confused from ordering through Amazon and then directly through Maybee Hives. Love the product easy to put together but will have to buy bottom boards that don’t match so they’re screened. I do wish you would sell the screened bottom boards individually though. I need three not four and is much less expensive to buy another brand. I will be buying more hives though.

The dado joints on the corners fit perfectly and went together tight. So tight that it really didn’t need the screws provided but I used them anyway. Sturdy frames easily assembled. I painted the foundations with 100% beeswax (recommended by experienced bee keepers). Overall I’m pleased.

I have previously purchased hive boxes and frames from Maybee so when my bees decided to create an excessive amount of queen cells this spring I knew where to get additional equipment from in a hurry. I am impressed by the quality and ease of assembly. This is my third hive from MayBee. I also took one hive to a hive building seminar and set it up for the students. I roughed up the inside of the hive boxes on one hive. A wire wheel on a grinder did the trick in a couple minutes per assembled box. The new idea is to make the hive more "natural" inside to spur increased propolis production and maybe better anti microbial effects.
