It is everything I imagined, earthy, churchy, incense. Delicious. Even my 5 year old told me I smell like a church. Arrived promptly and lovingly packaged, with a welcome free sample. The scent itself, Cathedral, is wonderfully smoky and full of incense, really does transport you to the numinous nave of a church. Multifaceted and dries down into a sticky leather which is quite weird (in a good way!) and fun. The only minor complaint I have is that the bottle itself feels quite cheap; but that's a tiny concern. This parfum is going to compliment my New Years wonderfully! x

What an absolutely arresting perfume!! I have been searching for a very long time for the perfect 'photorealistic' cathedral scent and I think I just found it. Opens up smokey, full of incense, and tones down to a gentle and very pleasant musk. It has already surpassed my other incense based perfumes and is part of my daily fragrance routine. I tested the 7 sample set and Darkling was the one that worked best with my skin. I love leather fragrances, and had recently purchased Guerlain's Cuir Intense. This is a similarly dark scent, but has a little something to lift it, making it a warmer experience that makes me want to bury my nose in it. The quality of Haus of Hecate is every bit as good as the Guerlain. The packaging is gorgeous too.
