My dog loves using his buttons. Some are single words and others are short phrases. He also combines up to three words to make a thought. One phrase he always uses wrong is “Ouch, that hurts”. He only hears me say that when he starts pawing my arm. I’m sure he thinks it means “Pay attention to me”. He often presses “Ice, please”. Who could ignore such manners?

I started training my two month old Sheltie the day after bringing him home. In the first week he learned four buttons - outside, food, water and treat. He has also learned play, tug, and puzzle. He has combined play and tug. He has also combined food and puzzle. The outside button has prevented numerous puppy accidents! Thanks for this great product!

I bought larger, cheaper buttons off of Amazon and when my dog took to them extremely well I rightly assumed that she would take advantage of more words if I provided her with options. Fluent pet buttons are expensive but I absolutely love the interlocking tiles and I’m impressed with the ease of use. The brand goes above and beyond what most do in terms of learning resources which I believe puts them at the forefront of pet communication options. I’m excited to see what is possible with all ani...

first button was "treat" which we trained in like 30 minutes. Husband and I worked together, I pressed the button with my nose to receive a treat. by the end of the first day he has "treat", "outside", and "play" perfect! I rubbed the "outside" button in the grass for smell

My Australian shepherd pups were already pressing buttons immediately as I put them on the floor and showed them how the buttons work. They already have a very diverse vocabulary so unlike the recommendations, we chose to place all of the buttons down for them with some of their most commonly used words. We've had the board for a little over two weeks and we are already having mini conversations! Sally even used the buttons to tell Cassie she wanted a toy they were play-tugging with and Cassie ...

Loki started using buttons in July 2023 and really took off after I took the Let’s Get Them Pressing course. She went from 3 to 53 buttons within a couple months! She has told us about a couple ear infections, tight hips from an injury, and has even requested an ice pack! This is of course, is in addition to requesting all the food and treats! Getting buttons for her and our other 2 cats has been such an amazing journey!

Curiosity is taking to these buttons so quickly that 32 won't be enough! My favorite is his use of concerned. I started using it and modeling it with regard to noises outside thinking he would be more likely to press it than bark at noise outside, but no. He has never pressed concerned about outside things. He has pressed concerned when my senior dog wasn't feeling well, when I was crying, over the smell of Goo Gone cleaner, and my favorite, "Concerned ball concerned," and then leading me to whe...

We are taking our time and learning at our own pace but Jolene seems to really understand what the point is already! I think I am learning more about how to listen to her as well.

Ruby loves her buttons! I'm using 3 buttons. Two are for games she likes and the third is "all done." She hasn't quite understood that she can go to the buttons to communicate. Using the buttons is still more of a game for her than I initiate.

We are loving our buttons! Sunny has been learning for about 2.5 weeks, and he has 7 words: outside, food (his favorite), walk, play, scratches, Sunny, and I love you. He has become more excited and expressive since beginning learning - it’s so exciting to have this new way to communicate with him.

When I got my puppy (now 9 months), I knew I wanted to be able to give him the best quality of life, but I knew that would require more than just my nurturing. Aside from body language & intuition. I wanted to teach him how to communicate with me using words. I had originally gotten the starter kit with 2 buttons (outside & play) & am so happy to see him take well to them. He’s replaced his 2 buttons with 6 connect buttons. It’s a new learning curve for him, but he remembers to ‘touch’ when I as...

Our dog took a while to first learn on the classic buttons. It took weeks but once he learned, he picked it up quickly. Now that we are in a space where we aren’t in the same room as the buttons all the time, we decided to switch to the connect buttons. This has been a total game changer. The soundboard allows us to hear the words anywhere on that floor and we also receive the notifications on our phone. This allows us to use the app to easily track button presses. I am so happy we invested in t...

Really happy with the upgrade from the patterned hextiles. I feel that the high contrast colors will make it easier for our cats to distinguish word categories and hopefully help with understanding the board layout.

Daisy is 9 years old and loving the buttons. She’s starting to walk in their direction when she wants something. Then she needs help. I’m looking forward to her expressing her wants without barking!

General good boy using his words. He is very happy with them and has favorites, including “sleep sleep relax”, “snuggle snuggle” and “pp outside”. Good quality and the pads are useful because they can get dirty easily.

I just received the extra set of hextiles and connect buttons. Rosie was ready to use last two buttons from the starter set of 12. It had beet about two and a half months since I started teaching her using buttons, and she is using them all and every day. She is very needy and bossy and surpassed my modeling presses by almost 400 presses. She is using combinations of different buttons as well to tell me what she wants.

Pax is up to 54 buttons, most of which he uses in the right context. It doesn’t seem like he’s reached his full potential yet, so we continue to add to his vocabulary.

I got the Speak up buttonsas an upgrade from Todd's standard buttons. I love them, they are so much easier to heR from across the room. With Todd's original buttons it took less than a day for him to start using them, but I had been working with him Preparing him for about 6 months prior to purchasing them. Todd is a quick learner and loves his buttons and being able to communicate his wants and needs to me.

So far it’s a good experience and I’m glad my pieces of foam aren’t so fragile that they break and my dog ends up eating it. Do NOT need an ER visit. She uses her buttons periodically and I’ll be on the lookout if more buttons are needed.

After 3 months, Archer now uses about 15 words consistently, plus a few more occasionally. So proud of his progress! He has big paws so the larger hextiles are a bit easier for him to navigate without accidentally pushing two buttons at once.

My dog & I are working on target training & I have 3 buttons I’m using with her. She explored pushing a button once (video) but no more since then. she’s an old girl (14) but I’m hoping she can learn some new tricks, if we are patient & diligent. It’s fun to experiment anyway!

I love the talking tiles. My dog has fun learning how to use them, and it's amazing to communicate with him like this. It's special whenever he goes to press a button of his own accord!

The edge pieces help the tiles stand out better for our learner and ourselves. My dog found it easier to start out with 1 button per hex tile, with the tiles separated on the floor rather than fit together. He gets really excited and basically starts punching the buttons when he's hyped 😆

We have 2 Aussie brothers and 1 cat. Coco (6) is the blue Merle and Cheech (4) is the white and red Merle. Mr. is the kitty. The pups are 'faux paw' double-merles, from accidental matings (Cheech is deaf)...but, they are so smart, sweet, cute and handsome! I've started an Instagram page for them, to follow our chatting journey: @cheechnbeans The day we received the buttons, Coco got playing with a toy. I directed his attention to the 'play' button and he pressed it with his nose. I've maybe ha...

He pushed the one of the buttons the end of the first week but I didn’t see it so I assumed it was unintentional. Then this morning I was watching him and he came to me for a pet then turned around and went to the buttons and pressed outside and looked at me!!! It’s been 2 weeks. Don’t overthink any of it. Just set it up “, model the words and buttons constantly and follow the advice from others using it. I am so excited !

Every night for maybe five minutes I would tell her to press the button with her paw… She knows what her paw is because she gives me her left paw and she gives me her right paw before a treat. One night I picked up her paw and put it on the button that says “chicken please.” I did that a few nights in a row. Last night I showed her the button I told her what it was and I told her if she wanted chicken that she had to hit the button. I walked away about 4 feet to the kitchen sink and the next thi...

The video I uploaded was from our first day! She took to the buttons immediately. I bought her a big set after our success with the starter kit. Keats is now up to 10 buttons and we are all loving it! As an added bonus, she hasn’t had an accident (she’s a puppy still) since we started using a button for “Outside”. I love “talking” with my furry baby!!

It’s been around 2 weeks since we started using the FluentPet buttons, and my 7 month old puppy seems to love it. The first week she wasn’t very interested, but now she uses them a ton everyday. We are excited to keep adding more buttons and expanding our communication abilities! The buttons are really easy to set up and have worked seamlessly so far. The guide provided, along with the They Can Talk community, have been invaluable resources for starting out on the right foot.

I have two dogs- Frankie is a Chiweenie and will be 9 the end of August, she has a vocabulary of about 300 words with me- her Mama.... since she understands me so well, I actually got the buttons to use with her. However, I also have a 1 year old Toy Australian Shepherd named River. River seems to be very smart, I had no trouble potty training him....(it took me 6 mths to potty train Frankie). He never had a accident in the house ever. I chocked it up to Frankie helping to show him where to go...

I was shocked by how quickly my 4 month old corgi figured out how to use the buttons. At first she would push them just for fun. Now, a month later, she uses her buttons frequently and understands what they mean. And she’s persistent about getting what she wants 😂“toy… toy…. Toytoytoytoytoy” this is what I hear from the other room if I clean up her toys. I recommend getting these buttons just to see what your dog/cat will do! ☺️

Josie is obsessed with the weather. She has a whole tile because of the hurricane. I had to add a rain button, and now she wants to know if it’s dark, sunny, rain, etc. She was my one dog that rang a bell to go outside, so she picked it up pretty much on her own with some reinforcement. The other dogs aren’t interested.

Tom LOVES this. We were training him for basic handling words like off/down and sit when we came across FluentPet. We were pretty sold on the idea since Tom is VERY food motivated. We started teaching him to press on a small Tupperware container while we waited for the package to arrive in the mail ( super fast shipping was so worth it ). When the package got here the first word we knew he would speak if he had a choice. "Treat". It's very hard to tell this sweet boy that he needs a balanced die...

I adopted Sunny when he was 12 yrs old. He was a skinny toothless toy poodle. I began to see how smart he was and got the buttons right away! He picked it up so easily like he’s been waiting to say all these things. He is 15.5 now and uses 28 connect buttons❤️ He is starting to teach his new adopted Yorkie brother Benni the communication now. Well, he is giving commentary and bossing him around with them. But Benni is watching him press the buttons and noticing the sounds and the interactio...
