I ordered this violin so I could practice in relative quiet — unplugged it is much quieter than an acoustic instrument, but it’s still plenty audible. So far so good — no one has complained about a cat yowling when I practice. I played years (decades) ago and have much work to do. The goal is to go back to my regular violin once I can again play in tune.
