This was our first experience of applying a stencil on a surface. The first time it did not work out that well because we did not use enough adhesive spray to hold the stencil on the wall flatly. I also used old paint which did not work out well. We ended up washing the wall and repainting. The second time worked out better since I put more spray adhesive and the stencil laid perfectly flat on the wall. Using new paint made the stencil come out wonderfully.

We applied the stencil without much difficulty. I thought the adhesive spray was particularly useful as it didn’t peel any of the existing paint off the wall. I would say it wasn’t a one shot job since we had a lot of touchup to do after the initial roller painting, due to the texture on the wall. A little TLC and touchup work and the project turned out great!

It worked out great. We taped the stencil together. Put it in position, then painted it using one coat. We let it dry, then had 10 people in position to lift the stencil in unison and move it to the other side of the court. We did 3 courts then cleaned the stencil to be used at a later time. This surface was not the best to run a strip with the machine alone.It would have caused alot of bleed off resulting in less than sharp stall lines. The client wanted a testing area done before before awarding us the contract. This kit did the trick. Even if it means stenciling the lot with the kit to make sure we get the sharp lines for the project. the thickness of the stencil materal, will ensure sturdy use for some time to come. Our ceilings were 108" but stencil only 72" So we improvised, hand drawing the tops and bottoms.
We filled in the stencil with drywall mud to add texture like tree bark. Our gold light fixtures had the same look.
WE started with chocolate, then bronze and finally gold to give visual texture also. Free handed the red cardinal.

I don't write a lot of reviews, but this is my second this morning. The previous review was on another vendor's site for what was supposed to be 14 mil mylar. It wasn't. Shame on me. It wasn't a bad review but wasn't positive either. I had purchased from Stencil Ease once before, but went somewhere else to save a buck (and get 12"x12" 14 mil pcs.) You get what you pay for and the material I received probably wasn't 10 mil.
