For euro nymphing there is no better reel. I own and have used lots of reels, and this has by far the best drag system on it I have ever used. With a full frame design, no mono or thin line will be slipping through the frame. I know it’s pricey, but it’s worth every penny.

I love this bag- perfect for upland hunting. Comfortable as a lumbar pack without straps when it’s hot. When using the straps they do not get in the way of shouldering the gun. It does not get in the way when trudging through the brush. The pockets that come with it are more than enough space for the things I need when working the north woods, and it does not weigh me down. I absolutely love this bag so far. Just love it!

Craftsmanship is top notch, amazingly light. I have mine on a 10’ 4wt NFC blank I built. It’s not a perfect match because my rod is very tip heavy but this is one of my favorite reels of all time. Definitely not going to be my last Galvan.

Sorry, no fly rod in the picture but it works. I bought this rod because I don’t have a true eight weight saltwater rod. The rod is a little stiff which is perfect for saltwater fishing when you have to make a quick fire cast. I sure had fun with it on the upper Sacramento River. Can’t wait to get this to the bonefish flats!

I used it for a year and a half for salmon and steelhead. This rod is very durable and very sensitive which is perfect for salmon. I have dropped this rod on rocks and still caught a ton of salmon and steelhead. But I broke it by stepping on it but for sure going buy it again. Amazing rod

960 - very light in the hand with fantastic swing weight. I mostly fished this with a shorter sink tip on the SA MPX - drag set up, and it was perfect. I really like this rod, a lot. First fish was this fat brown, ate a streamer next to a large pile of logs… put the wood to it on 2x with good results. I don’t like clubby fast rods… in fact I hate them… this is not a clubby rod. It’s progressive in the flex, snappy and has a lot of energy. I see another loomis in my future…

Have the rod matched with an Orvis Clearwater II reel and it handles magnificently. The 4 wt 9’ rod is awesome. I couldn’t be more satisfied. Currently trout fishing in NE Iowa, Allamakee County. This reel is amazing! It is sooo smooth and balaces very well with my rod and line. The quality, feel, and look definitely fills the price tag! I have a few other reels, all around the same price, and this one just feels and balances much better than the others I have. It's also very quiet and I normally prefer a loud reel, but I'm in love with this on my setup!

The medium action rod throws a RIO Gold Premier WFF line in a well balanced long presentation style with drys and does nicely with small nympths.
