It takes a bit of focused attention to use the Cork Genius as I really want to hold the plastic piece instead of the bottle. I was nervous how hard I'd have to push the needle through the cork, but it goes through easily. The flange also easily pushes the cork off the needle. Much nicer corks as they remain intact! It works just like it is shown; a couple pumps and 'pop!' out comes the cork!

So far it has been great. I had a stroke 3 1/2 years ago so my left hand and arm are weakened, hard to get a good grip on anything so this has made opening a bottle of wine much easier. As a plus is the cutter much easier and safer than the ole box cutter or using the wife's paring knives for some reason she doesn't fancy me using her $100 knives for anything but food preparation. When I saw this I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try it. I have so many wine bottle openers that just don’t work. Most of the time the cork lands up in the bottle. I love this wine opener! So easy to use! I will say this is my second one, the first one broke because the bottle I was opening was larger than the 750 ml. So don’t use for a larger bottle. Maybe they can make one that expands for larger bottles! This tool works great and is so easy!

We already have one of these so we bought another for a family member for Christmas. Works great. Only comment is you need to remember to pour your first glass of wine before inserting the chilled rod into the bottle (otherwise, the bottle will overflow and you'll lose a bit of wine :-( .
