This is a basic but fun intro to Arduino controllers and the Arduino IDE. This basic kit has a few parts (LEDS, resistors, button switches, photoresistor) to connect to the Arduino-compatible controller. The kit I received did not include a temperature sensor, which is needed to finish one of the lessons. The kit is great, a good next step from the first kit. Im a little bummed the story isnt more developed. The fictional context is part of what i like about these kits - its not just hardware, theres a reason to play with the hardware. its my understanding the story is coming soon.

Great little kit for the price. We are having a lot of fun with it. But it would be nice if there were something printed on the box, or a simple insert with the packaging indicating where to go for the lessons and instructions. Maybe a QR code?

The kit came in a great packaging, everything was great, the ONLY suggestion I have is ether emailing a code or link OR putting a QR code on the packaging to access the lessons. My 7 year old is excited to try it out!

Would have been better with instructions on the build. We were able to find a video that made a handful of mistakes along the way and meandered through it. Glad there is a programming video which will be helpful for the next stage. Kiddo loves the thing but unimpressed by the assistance.

Kit looks great, seems everything is there and then some. However, the text on the packaging could be more clear, and instructions to access the “adventure” would have also been helpful as well since I’ve no idea where and/or how to access the instructions or adventure to follow and complete the kit.

Overall happy with kit and tutorials, but it seems my Arduino board included with the Cogsworth City kit is defective. Luckily I have other Arduino boards on hand to complete the courses, but it would be nice to have the HERO board functioning.

I think this is a great starter kit, and it's something my 11 year old and I are working on together. The online resources have been easy to understand, but I docked a star because finding those resources in the first place is tricky! There is no information inside the kit telling you where to go to find resources/story information, so I had to do some searching on my own. I had luck joining the Facebook group, and reaching out to members there to guide me.

For month #2: The perf boards included in the kit were too narrow to add the pins to align with the header sockets on the Hero board. I had to buy my own perf boards from Amazon to complete the lesson to create a game shield. I will also use these Amazon boards to build the Arduino clone from scratch so I can add proper headers there as well. Also, the Helping Hands are missing the isolating tips for the alligator clips... But I guess this is part of the fun of being an early adopter of a br...

The 2nd month kit showed up missing the helping hand arms. I sent an email and they shipped them same day however they went out American Mail system which will take 3 weeks to Canada west coast. I bought a similar unit on Amazon as you can’t really do the kit work without it. We disappointed how month 3 is better.

Really great set of supplies, but I was really confused at first because I ordered the "Nebula Raiders" Adventure Kit, but the only thing that arrived was the Micropython starter kit with no additional instructions, guidance, or next steps. I found the resources online eventually, but it was frustrating to not have anything that said anything related to the Nebula Raiders Adventure.
