Had the telescope a week now and have had a couple of clear nights. It's enough to tell me I am pleased with the system but I need to refine the process and start using equatorial mode over winter. My trials to capture the Jewel Box have yet to deliver any colour - longer exposures needed hence equatorial mode. Other images for nebula are promising - now to wait for more clear skies to carry on learning.

Got this as a second ASI AIR for convenience of not swapping around rigs. These units make astrophotography very easy. Even though you’re locked into the ZWO ecosystem I find their gear to be high quality and reasonably priced compared to some other open system brands. The ASI Air is well suited for beginners as well. Easy learning curve and plenty of online resources to get you up and running. I wish we had these tools 30 years ago😆

Used the Optolong L2 (L-Extreme and L-Synergy) to image the Carina nebula as an initial test (on Celestron EdgeHD 8" with ZWO 2400 MC Pro, Starlight Xpress AO, OAG, FW on iOptron CEM120 mount). This nebula (NGC 3372) is bright and gorgeous and stunning in SHO extracted from the L-Extreme and L-Synergy masters in PixInsight using new tools such as BlurX, MAS and NoiseX. The Optolong L2 sets performed brilliantly.

I'm an absolute noob to astrophotography, but the S30 Pro is amazing. The photos taken are from my backyard in Adelaide, and when shown to a friend who is a seasoned astrophotographer, he was suitably impressed. It is very easy to to get started with, but there is so much to learn about the craft. Can't wait to head out of town to find some dark skies. I fear the bug has bitten! Would thoroughly recommend.

I've had my S30 Pro for 2 weeks now, and I'm getting good results. The first image is from my first attempt at the Orion Nebula, and is straight out of the telescope. The second image is of the Trifid and Lagoon nebulae, with some post processing in Siril. I am very happy with the results I am getting from the S30 Pro.

It fits snuggly into my optical train. This new version has better magnetic grip than the older version, by which the filter holder lost its grip on occasions, but that won’t happen anymore with the more powerful magnet on this model. It was easy to install; just remove the 21mm spacer and replace it with the filter draw… easy as. There is absolutely no light leakage either.

Even though I have an OSC camera, from my backyard I use CLP filters routinely. The filter does a few great things that a manual system doesn’t do; 1) change filters in plan mode 2) auto focus after filter changes 3) add a 4 character filter code to the file name and FITS header 4) allow me taking flats automated for the filters used last night. I’m new to astrophotography and had read some positive articles about the L Ultimate filter for emission nebula. I’ve attached an image from my first use of the filter on the Horsehead nebula. While I’m still a beginner I was absolutely amazed at the detail and colour. I also did some subs of the same target with the L Pro filter but it shows far less colour and detail for same sub times. It’s been great and hoping to get more images like this one.

This eyepiece is probably now my favourite, particularly for: globular clusters galaxies planetary nebulae general deep-sky observing At about 83× in my 1250 mm Dobsonian, it sits right in that deep-sky sweet spot, and with a 2× Barlow it also gives a very useful ~166× for planetary and lunar work. I would recommend this eyepiece to any serious astronomer.

Excellent solid dovetail bar to mount on my Celestron Edge 8 HD. Comes with all hardware and easy to assemble, you just need to take out 3 grub screws if mounting underneath and the new grubscrews will match exactly. Be careful that the grubscrews are of different sizes from the front compared to the back. Delivery was fast by Bintel and staff member was very helpful to make sure it mounts. Excellent!
