This season is our first attempt at growing edibles, but EG's wealth of knowledge has really given us the courage to take the leap! We already have a smaller Birdies bed as a native planter and we loved it, so we got the taller Birdies bed for our edibles. It was easy enough to assemble and isn't bowing under the pressure of all the tree stumps and soil it's holding. Will definitely buy more EG Birdies beds if we continue down the edibles path!

There are 2 photos here. One is a photo of some cheap cells that my Mom ordered online. They arrived damaged. So she was unable to use all of the cells. I have to be honest, the assembly is not easy but once it was together it is a fantastic product. Very solid and pleasant to look at. I’m glad I went with the tall bed because it is much easier to work the garden, even though I have only planted seeds so far. Not having to bend over is a good thing. The hard work was cutting logs to fill the bottom half and carefully placing them so as not to bang into the garden bed.

I’m a beginner gardener and have learned so much already from Epic Gardening. The straw has been working great so far. Only had about two little sprouts from the straw, and it was super easy to pull them out. I’m in zone 10a and it gets crazy hot here so the straw helps retain moisture.

Assembly was annoying with 100 screws, washers, and nuts but I love these beds. I also wish they were about half the price as I would have gotten more of them this season to replace my old garden bed. The photo was the first day I planted but I've had them going for around a month now with leaf mould compost, freshly chipped mulch, and Microlife 8-4-6 organic fertilizer. Assembly takes some time. Most screwing I have done in years at 100 per bed. Very high quality finish. Good size and we don't have to lean over to garden. Used wood scrap for 1 ft, then a local compost and soil mix for the rest. I think they will last for years.
