Turns out the universal tray does fit under the EG grow light, just not perfectly. But much better to deal with a slightly uneven tray and still be able to bottom water without getting the light tray filled with dirt. Use my trays to move grow trays about and even store supplies on them. Very sturdy and well made.

We decided to take the plunge and make a hobby of gardening, so my wife and I bought a few things we've seen used by our favorite YouTube gardeners like Epic Gardening and Self-Sufficient Me. We are very happy with the purchase so far. We're building out a little Bumblebee Junction "Super Soil" and we plan to begin our "square foot" garden as soon as the rain lets up! 😂 The Birdie's beds are beautiful and well designed; and easy to put together. I love the consistencty of this garden straw for mulching. It is pre-shredded which means it will break down faster to add a ton of great organic matter. I also like knowing that this is herbicide free, so I don't have to worry of damaging the plants I worked so hard on growing. These critter cages are great. Between the squirrels digging and the groundhog munching we’ve endured a lot of frustration. These are great for giving little seedlings a chance to establish themselves before any attacks. The value is really good for the quality and quantity. If EG starts selling larger cages, I’ll buy those too. (Do it, EG!) I do a lot of grow bag gardening and large cages would be ideal for protecting those.

I'm really enjoying my new garden bed, and so are my plants! The bed was easily to assemble and looks great. I had to do some research on how to fill it, and your videos helped -- I decided on a modified Hugelkultur method. The one matter that I had a bit of a hard time with was determining how to irrigate it. While your video was helpful, it didn't answer all of my questions. I eventually used a drip method and I'll see how that performs. So far, so good!

The new garden beds were easy to assemble and much clean in appearance then the Home Depot wooden beds with cinder bricks anchoring the corners. The hardest part was switching the old beds out with the new Birdies beds and moving the soil. However, the wood beds were starting to rot, so it was time for the change. Two thumbs up for the Birdies garden beds. They are great!

I love the sturdy design and how easy and efficient it is to put the planter box together. The size is just perfect for our garden. The mint color adds a nice touch to the garden. The material is smooth and the curve design is beautiful. In comparison to the premade beds at garden stores, the materials are definitely professionally/industrially made. I can't wait to load the box. Currently, I have 5 bags in and will probably need between 10-15 more bags of soil to adequately fill the bed.

Put down a layer of the straw bout two weeks ago. Very impressed with the moisture retention. Having a drought here in California and I need to conserve as much H2O a possible. This seems to do the trick. Checking my Birdie raised beds and the grow bags, I find they stay moist for days longer than before. I will buy when again.

I had previously bought an 8-in-1 bed in the ironside color, that I loved. So I was disappointed when I found out it was discontinued last year. I thought I’d give the slate a try, and bought the large set up. It’s a nice color and has enough distance between my “ironside” color bed to not really notice the difference. I love the bracing kits because the large set up can feel like it needs the extra support as you move it, and I’m looking forward to filling it with my raspberry plants next year...
