Chain of Lakes is a great performing soap, but the scent is too muted in my opinion. It is almost like an unscented soap. Very surprised this was a contest winner in 2019 in Arizona. That said, it performs great like all C&F soaps.

I got this soap in a sample pack as part of the Independence day deal. Got to try it this evening and botched the first lather by adding a tiny bit too much water, ended up squeezing it out, tossing it and started a new lather. I ended up scooping out a little more from the sample tin into the bottom of my scuttle and worked the lather more. Took a lot of work to get a good lather from this soap, I didn't have this much trouble with the Rum Runner scent. Back to the review, two things to the low...

This scent has a nice smell but seemed a little weak once lathered so minus one star. Slickness during shave was okay, could be a little better, but the feel after the stroke of the razor seemed to leave a dry feeling, minus another star.
