Red Label Abrasives are the only 2 x 72 belts I use. They have every belt grinding/sanding/conditioning option a knife maker could ask for. This Battle Ax was a conversion made from a fireman hand ax using Red Label Ceramic Sanding belts.

As a new knife maker, all I have at the moment is a 1x30 grinder, which feels kinda hopeless when you’re trying to finish a knife with big box store abrasives. Red labels 1x30 belts have been a GAME CHANGER. I’ve finished 5x as many blades since and am a red label customer for life now. I’ve tried other brands and these have been the best by far.

I purchased these belts to replace my worn out sunmight belts. These red label belts are more durable then the sunmights. The picture is a new red label belt and one after post heat treat edge grinding 14 blades of D2 tool steel. It still has grit and cuts smoothly after all that hard grinding. I will definitely be switching all of my sanding belts over to red labels.

I've tried other methods to get my butter knives to stop rusting. It's only been a couple weeks but so far it's successful which is better then my other methods! I will note this is my first time doing this. I think I could have used the red wheel a bit more as you can see I still have some scratches.

These Red Label belts work much better at removing paint and epoxy from an old skiff I'm restoring. The belts are thicker and last much longer even when sanding over nails. I'm much more productive spending more time sanding than changing belts with the other brand. I'll be ordering more for when I flip the boat over to finish the outside.

Red Label Abrasives is the only way to go. The ceramic belts last and cut very well. The smaller belts I use fit great. Too many times I've bought 1x30 from other companies and they were so stretched out they wouldn't turn.

This is my first time using surface conditioning belts, they are great! I bought the fine and I go straight from the 220 ceramic belts I get from Red Label Abrasives to the surface conditioning belt, it leaves a finish that is almost like a hand sand. I would definitely recommend red label abrasives. I've never put a belt that isn't a Red Label on my grinder.

I make shop-sawn veneers on a regular basis, usually from soft maple... which tends to burn easily and clog finer grit abrasives. Red Label is by far the best abrasive I have ever used! One of my most popular knives has some relatively difficult grinds. A hollow, a flat, a swedge... and Red Label Abrasive belts make the work as clean as any belt on the market. i love Matador Sandpaper my latest workpiece i am finishing using it isd working on a new hobby knife/scalpel made from a piece of scrap from a handset canister damascus.
