Lot-o Tumblers are good overall. This one had a large dimple in the bottom of the barrel where rocks can get caught and affect movement. I needed to fill it with epoxy. Also, it suffers from having the dowel in the wrong place, which requires a mod. Of course, everyone fashions something to keep the lid on. You would think they would just upgrade the devices so you don't have to fix them right after unboxing.

Unit operates as expected, however the unit gets rather hot. I had to start the motor then add drums one at a time as the motor does not have enough torque to start tumbling form a dead stop with drums installed.

They're sanding belts. I use them to sand and grind mostly turquoise in making cabs to put in jewelry. They are working just fine. Thank you.

I am extremely happy with this unit. For years I was using a pan and hot plate. The ease of use and convenience this is a no brainer!

I used the laps by following the instructions on the box and they have worked fine. Have had no problems with any of the laps.

I wanted cerium oxide specifically for tumbling obsidian. The firework and snowflake obsidian is more difficult to polish than other obsidian and this cerium works wonders.

I had some wheels that haven't been dressed in many years. I put this tool to work as soon as I got it and all my wheels are spinning true again. Plus it remove some vibration I was seeing due to unbalanced wheels.

Blade looks great. I am in process of repairing old saw so have not been able to use it yet. Much nicer than my old blade.

This powder, Linde A is a very good polish, it works very well with water or a little oil at low speed.

Professor Ignatius Snake Oil, works very well with all Gearloose Battstik. Don't need to put too many drops of oil.

I am still testing this grit. I am hoping to be able to skip a grinding step with really rough stones.

As a beginner trying to polish citrine and amethyst, this polishing pack was just what I needed. Can't wait to try it on other materials.

works great, The problem I have is I don't have the entire All-U-need to complete the set up how ever I have no doubt it will work just great once I am ready to work.

I decided to purchase the Hi-Tech all u need lap machine after taking a cabochon making class at a local studio. Trying to get to the studio from a rural area in New England during the winter helped in the purchasing decision. After using a few times I already know I will be purchasing more grinding discs and will have to play around with the polishing. I am also in a shop with no running water and have had to get creative with cleaning the white tray. Overall I am happy with the machine.

The tumbler works great and the books that came with are very informative.

It's okay, cuts well, but leaves some marks. The most significant issue is its flexibility. Previously we used MK blades which glossed up quickly and, even with dressing them, did not last very long. However, compared to this Covington blade, the MKs did not flex anywhere near this easily and made much straighter cuts. Even with considerable stone preparation and extreme care, it is difficult to make a truly straight cut due to Covington blade flexing.
