Book was great. Filled with lots of info on the history of TMOQ. Didn't see the need to change the names since the real names of a couple of people are on the production sheets. Wasn't too hard to figure out who the Greek, the Chicken Killer and Chicken Killer's managers are since they pretty much give their identity away by the clues they give.

As an avid collector of these records going back to the late 60's this book is a great wander down memory lane. Also a nice catch-up to see what I may have missed out listening to over the years. Thanks all at Genius!!

I managed to secure a hardback copy [29/300] which took a long time to arrive what with Covid and printing problems but the wait was worth it. In Australia TMQ boots weren't the easiest releases to find but I had a few and my fellow music lovers also had bought there choices so we had the catalog pretty well covered. but after reading the book I am finding out that not all was what we thought. Some low bastard had bootlegged the bootlegs.HA.HA. I have since bought another copy for my son who lik...

I absolutely love this book. It tells a fascinating true-life story about the people and events behind the shadow world of early rock music bootleg records. I was riveted throughout. As well, the book is lavishly illustrated with color photos of every TMQ release, along with original tape reels, inserts, and other memorabilia. My only small quibble is that the book’s physical dimensions are a bit ungainly and difficult to hold while reading. But this is a small matter, considering the immense hi...

Prompt and efficient delivery. Great book ! Beautifully presented with immense detail. It is fascinating to read the back story not only to the whole subject of bootleg albums but specific reviews I bought and have treasured ever since. Highly recommended.

Tony Wright did an amazing job with this book. The amount of investigative work that he did and reaching out to as many people as he could to get interviews with was great. His description of the boys and the detail the families gave made them so much more than just five missing boys from someplace you may have heard about. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed Tony's book. It is thoroughly researched (lived), to the point that I felt like I was present at the crime scenes. Good analysis of events. All around good read. Five stars 🌟 Thanks Tony!

As a college student very interested in the music evolving in the late sixties, it was great having several record stores in the University district to peruse on a regular basis. It must have been late sixties when I started noticing these interesting records with a pig stamped on the cover, with the caption of "Trademark of Quality" on them. A number of artists I was interested in began appearing on these records, with live performances or songs previously unavailable. The quality of some were...

The book was a joy from start to finish. Detalied information about the individual Trade Mark of Quality releases as well as the fascinating story of this classic bootleg company. I started purchasing bootlegs in 1978 and the book sent me back to the joy of my first collecting years. I initially reacted to the price for a paperback book but when I saw the book this reservation evaporated instantly. The quality of the printing and the high-end paper makes this a value for money purchase. Highl...

So far, loving it. Good engaging storytelling, nice paper, excellent good quality photos and details. Good job! May need another for a friend who was a dealer in the 70s. Not sure if he knows about it yet.

It was just good to read the story although dreadful to hear how these children were treated and so frustrating that it kept going on, and the vain attempts to get help. It is great that it was finally all exposed but too late when you think of traumatized, helpless children and their ruined lives. Those priests are absolutely evil. I hope the book and all the exposure will help people not to trust so called celibate priests, bishops, cardinals, etc, and to listen to their children. It is my...

Chuck H.
"Stolen Moments The Photography of Harold Sherrick" is a first class collection of outstanding images of many of the great artists of the music world. Sherrick's philsophy is to grab every opportunity to capture a subject because seconds later the moments are gone. The book has excellent production values from thick glossy paper to fine binding. The photographs themselves are presented to best advantage in both black and white and color images. Sherrick also gives background information on all ...

It is nice to finally get the behind-the-scenes story of these albums. They offered Dylan, Stones, Beatles, Zeppelin, and anyone else they could get. There is a live Janis Joplin Hawaii concert that exists nowhere else, so ... there is something to be said that they were also capturing history of an era too soon gone. And for my money, they changed things in the process in two ways: They put a crowbar in the tightwads and forced many of these out on the market, like Dylan's Basement Tapes, ...

The suspected criminal changed several times before finally being exposed! A real page-turner. Buz has a knack for keeping you on the edge of your seat. We are familiar with the locality of this story which made it even more something we could relate to.

I love this book. The photos are excellent and the discography grids are so much fun to read. I have pulled out several of my vinyl records and listening while reading. Wow! Live'r Than You'll Ever Be was my first purchase in December 1969. Original version on Lurch Records. Still have it. Check out the new 2CD version from CD Museum Pb. Bill M

I found this book by an extraordinary series of coincidences. I was thankful for those coincidences, because the book is a delight. The writer's father was "Davy the Punk," a character in the gambling underworld of the '30s and '40s. He was also a father, and this telling of Davy's story is heartfelt. This was a very good read!

12-26-75 should be read by every true crime fan and law student in America. It is a great book with intrigue and oddities that you would never believe without the incredible research and documentation done by Tony Reid. 12-26-75 belongs on the New York Times Bestseller List as a warning to us all that people in power can be soulless and corrupt.

I'm still reading it in small bits, it is hard for me to read all at once. I have a personal connection to this story. I'm still trying to piece together the violent child sex crimes that happened to me by the men who were part of Joe DeAngelo's group of criminals who assisted him. Joe DeAngelo didn't get away with everything and win on his own. He had a lot of people who helped him. Two of the criminals who assisted him lived with me as a child. The man with the bull tattoo on his left fo...

A great resource for the TMQ collector! Great hardcover version signed by the authors. Make sure to download the Discography Grid sheets from the Genesis website. They are an additional $2/ea but very cool to add to each album. I was surprised to learn that Rolling Stones: Get Your Rocks Off, 6-11-72, wasn't an official TMQ release, apparently just distributed under the TMQ label.

Josh Pachter’s novel reads like a beautifully written PBS mystery set in the international city of Amsterdam. The history, language, and cuisine serve as a backdrop to a puzzling murder which college research student, Jack Farmer, and lovely neighbor, Jet Childers, solve with wit, humor, and a bit of sculduggery much to the chagrin of the police. We hope to see more the the Jack and Jet duo in future mysteries.

I thoroughly enjoyed and admired the many phases of the song that were traced: from "Gambler's Blues" and "Dying Crapshooter's Blues," through centuries and various genres of music. I also appreciated the section on A.L. Lloyd, of whom I did not know much. I will be sure to search out more music books from this author and publisher in the future.

I bought a lot of these bootleg records starting in the early 70’s. It was so great to get these live concerts and studio outtakes to listen to. Of course we already had the commercial releases by most of these artists but finding these hidden gems were eye opening. I bought any I found by performers I liked. It is so great to see these releases catalogued and the details. This is a really well made book, thanks for doing this.

An extremely interesting and enjoyable book. It was also exceptionally well written, but the format, though great for the photos of the product, was not very friendly towards the reader. But still, a book not to be missed for anyone interested in the history of interesting records!

Could not put down this book !! This richly crafted story/history will not disappoint. Monty Orrick tells this story with great care, respect, and perseverance to get the details correct and unlock the truth about this 1952 double murder at Crater Lake.

This book may not be for everybody, but if you're like me and find music history fascinating, it's for you! As the author takes us down the tangled path of the origins and history of St James Infirmary Blues (aka Gambler's Blues), you'll learn about long-forgotten performers and composers and publishers from the early 20th century. And be prepared for some surprises: a lot of what you though you knew about St James Infirmary is flat out wrong! (Likewise as to Blind Willie McTell's Crapshooter ...

I’ve been collecting Bootleg LPs since 1972, from Adelaide, Australia, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Yardbirds, Dylan, Faces, Cream, ETC, the Australian distributors where from Melbourne. Wombat Lodge Underground LPS, & Toad Halls Rare Records. This book is essential reading as it tells you how the recordings were made & when, & of course the great artist William Stout. A essential Buy. Cheers PhilKean.

This book is very well written and a story that should be told, enjoyed the insight and found it hard to put down once I was into the meat of the story! A tragic tale that deserves to be publicly acknowledged, beautifully written by a very understanding and well versed author! Great read!!

I’m Dutch and lived in Amsterdam from 1975 until 1992 after that I moved to the US. Reading this book brought me right back, I loved the conversations between the Dutch and English language and even the ancient from a Dutch speaking person trying to speak English. I so enjoyed the book that I purchased four of them to share with my kids and friends.

Reprinting "Titanic: sinking the myths" is a beautiful tribute to Diane Bristow. She didn't get the recognition she deserved 30 years ago, but hopefully, she will now. Her unparalleled research of the Titanic goes beyond the voyage itself and uncovers all the hidden backroom political, financial, and engineering secrets which led up to the demise of the great British ocean liner. Well worth purchasing as a gift for Titanic enthusiasts.

The team of Mark Arnold and Charles Rosenay!!! have done an exemplary job in a mammoth book about the Turtles. Although primarily a Beatles fan, I loved the Turtles music and this book helped to highlight and preserve some precious memories for me. I did not expect such a large book with so much content. Both Mark and Charles have produced a wonderful title that helps to prove that the 60's were indeed the Golden Age of Music in the 20th century!!!

David Dean's The Purple Robe is very well written with great characters, plot, and unusual location. It's easy to imagine being in the seaside village of Prigreso Yucatan and getting caught up in the "miracle" that captures the hearts of the town people, Fun read.

Palladino's array of odd characters weave their way through the historic streets of Santa Barbara, circa 1959, from the ocean to the mountains and back again. Where else could you find a noir murder mystery with the likes of Aldous Huxley, Dennis Hopper, Frank Lloyd Wright and victim, Snake Jake, woven into the plot. Nothing is what it seems and the surprises keep coming right to the very end. A must read.
