Love my little silkies! I ordered 4 silkies and I received 5, but one was already dead and the other one died shortly after. The shipping is very hard on these new born little chicks and especially if it is starting to get cold at all. If I were do it again, I would make sure I paid for overnight shipping.. I have chatted with Feather Lover Farms and hope to get refunded for chick that I lost because it is too cold to ship me new ones in Utah right now.

The seramas arrived alive and well with the exception of one little chicken. A day later than the promised time. USPS didn't make me drive to the post office so they sent a courier to my house with the chicks. All alive, one lookimg rather lathargic. Unfortunately the 2 Ayam cemani chicks arrived dead. A credit was issued. The 2 isbar chicks and a mystery chick seem to be doing well. I would like to know the breed of the mystery chick. The one frustration I have is the fact that I have to pay for another chick to make it to 3 chicks on the order. So by the time I pay for an extra chick that I don’t even want and pay shipping AGAIN, I’m out another $80. Seems like there should be a better policy for replacing chicks that are DOA. After Nearly three months of waiting, 3 Black Silkie chicks finally arrived today. Sad to find one arrived dead, only two were alive. I was a little disappointed that they were all black. I was hoping to have at least one white. They are adorable nonetheless even the in black. They are very tiny and seem very fragile. After settling into a bigger enclosure with food, water, and a heat lamp they seem better. Hopefully they are strong enough and will survive.

Because we are so damn hot right now, and this breed’s color is black, I can’t help feel sorry for my Green Fire French Black Copper pullets and cockerels (yes male and female, even split, down the line. Right now, my only consolation is that come winter, with their black coats, they’re gonna be toasty warm.
