The Kestrel dongle worked very well with my laptop and Kestrel software. I bought the dongle not for storing data but so I could update the firmware in my 5500. I did the update and it went smoothly. But, I don’t think I needed it for that purpose as the phone app had an option for updating firmware if I understood it correctly.

I really like the mini tripod for situations where something this small will work, like on a picnic table or on a rock in camp. I can see where a larger tripod would often be a better choice. I appreciate the quick shipping.

Replacing the door was a little bit more involved than it seemed but it wasn't that difficult. I actually had more trouble replacing the lanyard cord as it is stiff and doesn't like to bend in ways that it hadn't been.

We’ve only begun to use it - getting basic data on blower output from our AC unit and on our sailboat to view wind speed at deck level. Wind speeds look reasonable, but we have limited data we can use as a control. A readout that is a little larger, thus easier to read, would be better.
