I just bought two of these gates for my two cats, one for the living-room entrance and one for their room, yes they also have a room. The one on the cats room only gets closed when work is getting done on the house and living room is kept closed, don’t need my furniture ruined. I had them both installed by a handyman. I was using baby gates which I was tired of putting up each and every time. I highly recommend these gates, little costly, but they are well made and I am so happy I purchased them...

So far so good! This was really the only design that would work for it stairs, so we splurged. My husband cut a piece of wood to match our trim so that we could mount the latches on the wall. Easy to use one-handed while carrying a baby or other items. And it’s pretty discreet since it matches our trim almost perfectly. I have 3 big dogs that I like to keep in our back den and we finally found something that fits perfectly in the doorway. I researched a lot of these gates, as you really need to do your homework so you don't order a piece of junk with a depressingly short lifeline. I have two German Shepherds and a baby on the way, so I needed a good way to segment off portions of my home for both safety and sanity. The install was quick and painless, other than moving the mounts once or twice since I didn't bother with the directions and just threw it up in the doorway. This is perfect for our home. We put up the gate to keep my dog out of the massive bonus room. We have two of these gates. One is mounted at the base of our stairs, the other at one entrance to the kitchen in a tight walkway. I have recently purchased a second gate because we liked the first one so much. We have a town house with four stories and lots of stairs. We put the first gate at the top of the main staircase to keep the baby upstairs. When it is in the locked position it is pretty rigid and our baby has yet to figure out how to get through it. I bought this gate after watching a bunch of retractable gate videos and reading a bunch of reviews. And I have to say it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. There is no loud ticking when putting it away. Super easy to install. When locked there's no way any child is going over through or under it.
