I was struggling, but getting the Bonza bag put together and then I chatted with Sally who hooked me up with a coupon and the video instructions. I just love this bag. I did really well with each section. I did find getting the side bindings done nicely was difficult on the one bag I used the flex shape. Getting it to fold over & still let me get that rounded back piece nicely was tough. I did find that bias binding had less problems than straight grain binding. But this is a fantastic bag and a lot of fun to create. We are having a quilt guild challenge judging next week and I donated one of the bags for prize. I made 4 so far.

I love this pattern. I used Soft and Stable for the outside and it worked out well. But I used the stiffest Peltex known to man because that was all I had. That was a mistake because I couldn't fold the bag down to sew the outside, where the pleats are, to the outer bag. So I had to attach that area and bind it by hand. Next time I will follow the instructions. Now on to the Dumpling Dish.

Love this bag. Will be taking to retreat next week. I did have some difficulty since my machine had the low hanging apparatus ( as Sally calls it). However, the recorded sew along helped tremendously. Sally’s tip about glueing the biding was a game changer! Thanks Sally!

I cut out this bag from the Mother Lode draft pattern; then purchased Bonza pattern so had to do some resizing. I left the width the same and instead of using rods in the inside pockets, I used Decovil. Have done 3 bionic gear bags and this one. Love them.

This Bionic Gear Bag was the most fun to make. Used 4 Crown Royal bags for the exterior. The interior pockets and pouches were different color ways of alcohol beverages glasses and short recipes. This pattern making these bags can be used for anything not just for sewing items. This BGB lives in Texas with a long time friend. She loved this surprise.

This is the best project I have ever done! Sally's instructions are wonderful! I have been using it for years; in fact it sits beside my sewing machine as well as getting packed up to come with me on retreat! I really appreciate the new instructions Sally has added for sewing with "lower hanging" machines -- it will make my next Bionic Gear Bag much easier!

Well what fun, You prepare your parts and get up when the alarm rings At 4am….. You listen as each seer asks questions and sew and sew and after about 8 hours of giggles and shared virtual meals, you excuse yourself and do it again day two but you can’t last so well. But you are slowly making a great bag. I hadn’t finished but by going on zoom showing where I was and doing the homework I finished a bag so amazing and so useful. Well this is clever! I travel in my Caravan with my sewing machine so need hand sewing gear and quilting supplies at the ready. I have several BGBs full of notions but really need fabric ready for a new project on a rainy day. This bag is perfect with its capacious bottom "box" and my BGB rides on top all enclosed with a zip so no risk of losing expensive tools and with straps long enough to go over my shoulder or as a handbag. Perfection!

I L-O-V-E-D making this bag. PDF and the coloured photos made this possible. You have to read the instructions more than once and keep your marbles together, BUT... It got easier. Thanks to the glue idea for the binding all ended well. I could only add 1 picture. 🙄

The BGB is a truly great bag but the MOJO, is great and so quick! This was my go to for Christmas one year and I made cutlery pouches for everyone! They were well recieved and there are many in glove boxes around Australia as a result.

What a great day we had. And now the 2014 totes are up and there’s some old friends in them. It was worth getting up at 3am to participate in 2014 and again this year in 2022 and finding this fun caravan fabric inspiring and makes use of short lengths of zippage, Perfect for coins at the laundromat on our travels!

There’s no way on God’s green earth can I do this. One sentence… you have to be extremely accurate as it can’t be trimmed”. I trim a lot. This update was a tremendous help! Thank you!!! I did have a problem with all the rods in and trying to do the final step sewing the zipper tabs in place. I did sew them by hand and happy with the end result! Love my bag!

I probably could not have finished the project in a few hours if I did not have the benefit of cutting instructions before the zoom secession. I consider the Class Handouts well Wirth thd few dollar cost. Thank you Sally for such well written and planned projects.
