This was my first time using your pizza steel and the crust of my pizza was amazing. Also used your pizza dough recipe on website- delicious. The only thing I was unprepared for was how heavy it was! But I’ll never use anything else for pizza

This piece of metal is a little miracle. Heat retention is unparalleled outside of a professional setting. I’m getting the best pizza results out my electric GE home oven and can make restaurant quality smash burgers on my grill, to boot. 10/10 recommend.

The steel rocks! Preheat it and lay your pizza on it, in a pan or not. My last pizza was Florence fennel/finicchio, pecorino romano and smoked mozzarella, sauce and onions, pan/bar style. Man was it good! Perfectly browned crust; no need to pop it out of the pan for a direct bake on the steel. The steel transferred heat beautifully to the steel pans. I was born in Stoughton, MA. Happy to support American-made and a company that delivers great service and quality. And, it won't break!

A must have if you purchased the Steel Plus. This peel allows the dough to slide into the oven evenly without any issues. The peel is light weight but incredibly strong. We made a HUGE 750g pie, and it came off the board with ease. "Back of the peel, to the back of the Steel"... words to live by. Andris, this needs to be your next T-Shirt! On the front "Back of Peel"... on the back "to the back of Steel". I'd buy one for sure...! My only negative (maybe for future consideration) the peel n...

Works pretty good on first pizza . Couldn’t get the Webber up to 500 degrees ( with coals) so switched to gas bbq . That got to 500 and we were impressed with our first try . The online videos really helped .

Still early days with the griddle but I’m happy with it so far. With time I think this will be an excellent cooking surface. It is currently taking up the two left burners without much issue. There may be times I’ll have to move it to free up the burners but in general I intend to use it as a semi-permanent flat top. To that end, so far so good.

First bake with my steel and I’m so excited by the results. I will continue to work on my shaping but for now I can’t believe what a difference this has made.

I currently have the small one but purchasing the pro!!!! Check out my sourdough bread's Just think you don't have to use your Dutch ovens for a perfectly cooked bread and it cooks so evenly the bottom NEVER burns! I'm beyond impressed!! Thank you... Karen🫶🏼💕👍🏼

As a sourdough cottage baker this has been an absolute game changer for me and my business. The loafs turn out beautifully brown with a nice crust everytime. I am able to bake more loafs at at time than I was with my dutch oven setup and I don't have to lift those heavy dutch ovens over and over on bake days!! I couldn't be happier!

One griddle is great, two is even better! The second one arrived today just in time for a teppanyaki dinner for four. I'm still calibrating the burner settings, but everybody enjoyed the steak, shrimp, scallops, veggies, and noodles. Pancakes and sausage for breakfast tomorrow!

I've used the baking steel about 4 times now and love the results. A few years back I tried using a stone. It was fairly thin and really didn't do what I wanted, then I found the baking steel. Videos and tips are very helpful!

There were some issues with arrival, it took over a month to ship and I tried contacting several times, but it took a while to get a response. Once I did, however, he was very kind and understanding! I was just so damn excited, then the shipping was delayed by four days once shipped. I can say, it was very much worth the wait! The pizzas I made on this thing were SUPERB. I fermented the dough for a day in the fridge before cooking, then right out of the box I rinsed and seasoned the steel with b...

Been using the Baking Steel for about a year now. I never use anything else when making pizza and breads. My guests were so impressed with the steel and the pizza, one guest told his son about it and he ordered one that night.

I bought my steel about 6 years ago now and I opted for the largest model that doubles as a griddle. At the time, I was living in an apartment with a small oven that didn't fit the steel, but I knew that one day I'd grow into this thing. Fast forward 6 years and I've just moved into my first home and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. While I've been using the steel for years for pizza (and most everything else I bake - it's also fantastic for keeping the bottom of your oven clean), I've on...

The skinny griddle is great on my standard electric glass-top stove. It's very heavy, but that makes it very reassuring to use. It is difficult to move around and lift off of the stove top, but so far I haven't made any scratches by sliding it off enough to grip it. The griddle fits many slices of bread, eggs, etc at one time, which makes it easy to make a whole meal very quickly. It takes about 10 minutes or so to heat up on medium on my stove, but stays hot even after food has been added. Als...

Heating the steel for an hour makes all the difference in the world. 3 day ferment, allows time for planning and prep especially when it comes to choosing the right wine, beer or veggies and herbs from you garden. Love the steel! ❤️💕👏👏👏👏👏

Just bought the #12 pan. Arrived in perfect condition. The picture is after 2 rounds of oven seasoning and one stovetop seasoning. Cooked twice in the pan, onions, mushrooms and peppers for a stir fry and the pan worked well as would be expected. This morning , a bold move, an omelet. Use less than a Tbs of butter and did use room temp eggs. The bits in the pan are not anything that was stuck, just scraps that fell off into the pan after serving the 2 pieces. Slid around so much i had a hard t...

If you have an electric range or induction cooktop, please PAY ATTENTION! You need a carbon steel pan that can stay in a 450°F oven for more than 1 hour. Stovetop seasoning does not work well with electric cooktops. Your oven, however, works very well. De Buyer makes great pans that are built like tanks and don't warp (at least in my experience). You will have to buy their more expensive Pro line with stainless steel handles to achieve this. I bought the 10-inch Baking Steel made by De Buyer and...

Very happy with the Original Baking Steel- it truly makes a difference and gave me a wood fired pizza oven result! After using a pizza stone for years, I finally decided to try a Steele and chose the Original Baking Steel. The proof is in the pizza 😋 Where can you find a pizza like this picture - nowhere! I am a very happy customer.

I bought the baking steel a while ago and used it for the first time tonight. I made the Chicago tavern style pizza and everything turned out great! I never could have achieved the results I did without the baking steel and a great recipe from Billy Z. Thanks to everyone for making dinner a success.

I’ve been making pizza for years, but on the very first bake Modernist steel took me to a whole ‘nuther level! Bake time at 550F dropped from 9.5 mins on another maker’s 4mm steel to 4 mins on this 3/8” steel, resulting in the soft-puffy-yet-crisp brick oven style crust we all want. Even coming from a different (lighter) steel product the difference is huge. I know that by reverting to lower moisture mozzarella I can refine this even further, for a more done top in a shorter bake time (prior to ...

I was gifted the steel plus ten months ago and I finally used it. I couldn’t wait to make it. I bought a pizza book that is highly rated. Boy, the pizzas came out delicious! The crisp on the bottoms are amazing. Makes pizzas faster because of the shorter baking times (literally half the time) and two at a time. I love it. I can’t stop raving to my family and friends about it. They’re asking how I made the pizza. Well, recipes alone didn’t do the work. This is how they turned out. And my pizzas...

I use a small oven (delonghi midi) which can accommodate a steel ~29x29 cm max. I was so glad that I found this. It seemed a bit pricey compared to my current baking stone, but then it is well worth it - I don't need to worry about it breaking, and can wash it however I like. The result is very noticeable when I bake pizza! Nowadays I use it to bake sourdough. I would recommend this to everyone. Baking Steel's customer service is great and responses very quickly.

Used it to make smash burgers on a gas grill and pizzas in the oven. Worked exactly as described in both cases. Burgers got a nice char in seconds and when I made the pizzas i qas able to make after the other rather quickly without loss of quality. Easy to clean and handle. Very heavy. In the past I used pizza stones in the oven to make pizzas but this definitely tops that cooking options, hands down. Would recommend to others without reservations.

So I bought a $3000 pizza stove. Loved the pizza so much I wanted one for my vacation home but just could not afford it. Then I found this product. I like it even more than my stove. It makes pizza just as great but sooooo much easier to clean. And so much cheaper. I highly recommend this product.

I have previously given a review of the Baking Steel but didn't provide a photo. You don't need to see the top, this is the only photo that matters. This is wood-fired results from a 550 F regular oven. I never would have believed it. The results are stunning. I have been on a quest to get pies like this for 15 years. My elevated temperature attempts on outdoor grills were great, but difficult and tedious to pull off. This is a complete no-brainer. Someone asked me if I really paid $120 for a pi...

I have been baking pizza for years with a pizza stone. It was good but not great. The original baking steel is a game changer. I do suggest to start out simple the first time around. We have a wood-fired pizza oven outside in our backyard, but living in northeast PA, we only get to use it 6 months out of the year. It’s unfortunate since we love having pizza nights with family and friends on the weekends and everyone looks forward to them. I found out about Baking Steel and after reading the reviews, I was a bit skeptical. I decided to “take the plunge” and buy one to try it out. Well, I’m here to say, WOW how did I miss this all these years! I now get to enjoy homemade pizza...
