I really like this puff beanie! It's very warm and thick, and it covers my ears just as I had hoped. I like that I can wear this with my hair in a puff and with my wig in a bun or ponytail. The satin is about 4 inches as far as the length goes from my edges up to almost the middle of my head. The satin wraps around the entire beanie so your edges and nape area will definitely be protected. I would definitely repurchase this beanie. I was so excited to see that it was on sale for Black Friday.
