I love these letters and look forward to reading them when they come! I've so far read the complete series of Audry Rose--excellent. All the extras they add to the letters you can almost picture yourself there. Full of adventure and hope. I'm now starting the Adelaide Marigold series--so far love it too!! I got one for me and by BFF who recently moved away. The tin is great to hold all the envelopes I will get in the next year and keep them safe in one organized decorative place. And the letters will keep me and my BFF connected for the next year. Every two weeks we will get letters and it will prompt a call to discuss. This is a great idea to stay connected throughout the year.

I was curious about the letters and how they would work. Actually, I thought they were going to be kind of hokey. But I am now completely addicted to them and haunt my mailbox until they arrive! Even though I have received only 5 letters so far, I am dreading the day the last one arrives. My father (and 4 of his brothers) was a WWII veteran so I feel even more attached to the characters in these stories.

LOVES sending out carefully chosen and written cards and notes. This was just the right thing for a person that is hard to buy for!!! Bought this for my 99 year old mother-in-law and thought she would enjoy this format of getting letters in the mail. She lived in the time frame of Audrey Rose and wrote letters back and forth with her future husband who was stationed in England. The only complaint I have would be the size of the print - I know a small magnifier was sent with the first letter - but a larger type size would make it easier to read. Perhaps a large print edition could be made available as an option.

After only a couple of letters - I feel a friendship evolving between us. It's interesting that, during a time of war, relationships can bond so quickly. I had heard stories from my parents but never related to that bonding until the letters.

What a clever idea! I have the Lily Clara story. The first letter included a photo of Lily Clara, so I can picture her in my mind as I read her story. I love anticipating the next letter. And while waiting, I go back and read the previous letters. The “Learn more” section is very interesting and educational. And all the little extras (telegrams, postcards, business cards, and more) add so much to the enjoyment!

I have to tell you that when I got the letter from Matthew Hickman telling about his days with the Texas Rangers and capturing John Wesley Hardin was extra special to me. Not the fact that he was captured (but he really was) but that he was my great grandma's cousin.

I love these letters so it is so nice to learn more of how it was back then because the history books don't tell us everything like about how young couples had to struggle during the war being apart from each other that was a tough time on the souls of the young couples and some of them didn't even know if their loved ones would be coming home from the war but they just had to believe and write letters to each other and believe in them coming home to them and love them all the way through it
