I sized up one and was able to wear a thick vest, hoodie, and thermal under my jacket. it kept the wind out and was super waterproof (it snowed the entire day!). Got this jacket for recent trip out west anticipating hiking. Wanted lightest weight wind and water proof jacket. I am losing weight and going from a NF size XL to L and this jacket does fit - it is a close fit stretchy material but feels good. Sleeves are great long length. I walk about 6-7 miles a night with a backpack on, and this was one of my go to jackets, but it started wearing out in the back where my backpack rubs against my back so I have been scouring the internet looking for another one since TNF doesn't make them anymore.
