Let me just say that if it wasn’t for the price of this product I would probably be rating it 5 Stars. But unfortunately, the fact that the instructions were incomplete, as in missing details and steps, and the actual quality of the materials being very poor, I have to rate this lower. It is exactly what it looks like. BUT! It says "No additional tools required" and that is NOT TRUE. The first page of the instructions has a list o things you need, inluding glue or pliers. That dissapointed me. Besides that, the product is great and very satifyng to build. Looking forward to see if this review will be on the website or the "No additional tools" text will be changed.

takes a younger pair of hands. my hands and fingers are worn down by years of physical labor but l challenged myself and somehow put it together (but in more hours than 4-6). turning on the lights made me feel good. I have one more to do. My advice: be patient, take it slow and be patient!!

It is a very good looking piece when finished, the materials and colors are really very good. The instruction booklet is just pictures but easy to follow. I'd give it 5 stars except for the lighting system. It appears that the sensor is triggered by movement but it is very distracting. If you want to leave it on continuously it doesn't stay on but goes off after a minute or less. The manual makes no mention of how it works or doesn't work. I really enjoyed building the Library of Books. I didn’t anticipate the 15 or so hours it took and I made a few minor mistakes, but it was very relaxing and rewarding. I made it for my wife for Christmas. My only criticism is that is came with a sensor but no directions were given regarding the operation of the nook and no one answered my e-mails requesting assistance. I still don’t know if I am missing a remote because the blog mentions a remote and speakers (?) but mine has a wind-up music box...

I bought 6 different book nooks for my daughters and their girls and we've made it a Sunday family activity to put them together. The youngest two (5 and 8 yr old) needed help, but the 12 year old and adults had a lot of fun. The kids have already asked to do more. I haven’t finished it yet, but I’ve enjoyed the build so far. The main challenge is that it takes more time to find the pieces than it does to assemble them. They give you the part number but not the sheet number I had to search through all 20-or-so wooden sheets to find the parts. The second challenge is that the tabs rarely fit the slots. My work-around is to clip off the tabs and glue. I can’t continue, of course, until the glue dries. It takes a lot more time than advertised. That said, I am...

This is really impressive once it's together, but be aware that assembling it is a bit challenging... getting the staircases connected to the walls in particular. You'll need clamps or something to keep pressure on the walls. But don't get frustrated, because it looks great on the shelf when it's done!

Bought this as a gift for a family member and couldn’t wait to start building it together. Step 5, to be exact, is only far we got until we found a problem in the book. After reaching out to anavrin for the solution, I was made aware there are about 5 mistakes in the book. For quality and price of these, I would expect there to not be that many mistakes, or any at all, or at least addressed these issues upfront. Otherwise, everything seems great so far.

It was great! The pieces were smaller than I expected and it took a lot longer to put together than we expected, too. It took us about two full days and that was with multiple people working on it. The most difficult part to get right was the lighting and that surprised me. We never did get the light button to stay in it's little holder, but ultimately it turned out really well. It was good but some of the metal parts were very fragile and it was difficult to remove the backing paper and no instructions were provided who to accomplish this. Also, the sliding door did not work very well.
