I love the design of the MDV. I actually thought a trainer was going to be included with the purchase of the Damascus version. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I also think that the retention of the sheath isn’t quite right, even after adjusting the bands. I’d better acquire another rhino sheath and some extra bands to see if I can get a bit more of a secure retention feeling. Had to order another MDV….as mine was missing in action for over a week. Got it in sometime last week. Got extra tape snd bands and a Ulti-Clip Mini. Love this knife. Taped the handle like Michael Donvito showed and that makes a huge difference. I also bought the trainer to practice different draws and to practice on my BOB. From the packaging to the heft and feel of the blade I am very happy with it! This will be the knife I carry with me while I hunt in the Colorado wilderness. It's is everything claimed: exceptional design, fit, and craftsmanship. Quality in everyway. I have huge hands, this is the best fitting small fixed blade defense knife I've held. I own a couple of Skallywag’s fixed blade knives, a Aculeus A2 and a Riptide, both of which are incredible knives. I’ve had the MDV since its inception and have loved it. Went to a training course and was excited for the folder release. I wasn’t able to purchase one until recently and now I have a love-hate relationship with it. It’s an amazing blade with great features. As many folks here, I debated about this one for some time. I figured "Zombie Apocalypse" tool. Reading the comments on how well it performed finally sold me. I've got a long history of blade training, and have always wanted one this size. I did not realize how much I would enjoy doing drills and cuts with it. Excellent grip design, I have huge hands. The build quality, the thought out process of tactical usage, the training videos, the fact that the owner & designer of the knives have actual Q&A videos for their customers. I could go on & on.
